Variety is reporting that Miley Cyrus is set to star in a new Disney film, title yet to be determined, which is said to be a romantic film and produced by Tish Cyrus. The movie is being tailor made for Miley by author Nicholas Sparks.
Sparks is writing an untitled novel and simultaneously working on a screenplay adaptation for the film, which will be produced by Disney-based Offspring Entertainment partners Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot. Tish Cyrus will be exec producer.
They are keeping the plot under wraps, but the movie ‘A Walk to Remember’ was mentioned.
‘A Walk to Remember’ moved Mandy Moore away from a pop persona, and similarly, Cyrus won’t sing but only act in the Sparks drama that touches on family and romance.
Miley has mentioned several times that she wants to broaden her image and step away from the kid roles such as Hannah Montana and move into more adult roles. But she has also said she wants to stay within the Disney family.

No, because she can’t act. So obviously if she can’t sing, she definetly can’t act. Plus we’ve already seen her take her first steps to “adult”.

I think the movie would be OK. She can’t really act that good, but if there was singing in it, she would do great.
I think she will do a good job on taking that role, she did good on the Jake Ryan episode.

I think she would do fine. Like Team JB.Miley said, it’s Disney, it’s not like anyone really does much acting on the shows. They just have the actors over dramatize everything they say and do which is completely stupid. If they would give them an actual cahnce to show what they’re made of, people would have more respect of Disney. I think Miley needs to break away from Disney all together, along with JB and Demi Lovato. Because Disney makes them into something they are not and makes them do certain kinds of music. Like with Demi, she had some songs she had written herself and the lyrics were really good but Disney wouldn’t let her do them because they weren’t ‘happy’ enough.
That’s why certain stars left Disney a long time ago! Disney is crap now! I respect your view Kayla because I agree with some things.
Yeah, like remember Shia LaBeouf in Even Stevens? He didn’t seem like a good actor but he IS, he did great in the movies he’s done thats why he keeps making more.
And I think they act more professionally after they do movies becuse they get help from expirienced movie actors. And the people that go to Disney are first timers and not really experienced. So I guess you get better after working with experienced people.
I agree with MileyFana13. Shia LaBeouf is an amazing actor! He was good in Even Stevens, but people didn’t take him so seriously. Now that he’s left Disney people see him as an amazing actor and actually do take him seriously. He’s starred in so many good movies… and it’s true, that’s why he keeps making more.

I really miss some of the old shows. Disney just keeps changing everything. Not all of they’re changes are good either!
omg is she serious? like a walk to remember is like one of the most epic chick flicks along with notebook in the past five years.
like i don’t mind her but if she takes the role over someone else that could do better (cuz let’s be honest people she isn’t the best actress); i would prefer that girl get the part or if she sang really good.
like i think demi would be better in a serious role and she has the voice. but don’t get me wrong i don’t think she is the best fit for a role that is as epic as jamie from awtr. but in comparison to other young actresses i think she’s good for it.
@Hilary Thanks. I do like Disney but they tend to ver dramatize everything instead of doing more serious acting. Which kinda sucks sometimes.

I can’t really picture Miley doing something like “A Walk To Remember.” Not because I EXTREMLY hate her, but because she hasn’t done anything like….OTHER than Disney.

Wow! Some people can be so cruel and critisizing. (You know who you are…) Miley is a good actress, just because Hannah Montana is a comedy, doesn’t mean it’s not a good show, or that the actors on it are not good either. Anyway, there have been some serious moments on the show too. I loved A Walk to Remember, and I know Miley would do a great job in a similar movie.
Also, why are so many people critisizing the Disney Company because all of their shows are not serious enough or good enough according to you? They make many wonderfully amazing and successful shows. Disney Channel is not supposed to have dramas on it because it’s generally aimed at kids, although ther’s nothing wrong with watchnig it when you’re older because they are entertaining and great family oriented shows. Sorry for the long tirade, I just really dislike when people critisize Disney, when they are such a great company.
Eh whatever, like I said, just my (And apparently other people’s) opinion. I don’t even think some of you people watched the Best of Both Worlds concert tour. She was HORIBBLE!!

She can act but that movie was PHENOMENAL, you know it was a heart-wrenching love story and she overacts on disney and idk if she can be an natural actor so ughh idk im definatley doubting it idk if she can touch mandy moore…
@Gabriella I wasn’t saying that I didn’t think the shows on Disney were good, I was just stating that they overact. I actually love watching the shows on Disney and I understand that it is aimed at younger kids but I wish they would have the acting toned down just a bit.
