Did you know that before Greg Daniels made it big with the American version of The Office, he was the creator of King of the Hill? It sounds like he’s feeling the lure of animated TV series again, because Deadline reports that he’s developing two new animated shows for NBC. What makes this news more exciting is that he’s pulling a writer from each of his current live-action hits to help out.
Parks and Recreation producer Alan Yang is working on a cartoon about a group of twentysomething guys all sharing a house in Hancock Park, an upscale neighborhood in LA. (Fun fact: Famous residents include Victorious’ Ariana Grande and Will & Grace star Sean Hayes. No idea if they’d be drawn into the show, though.)
All we know about Mindy’s show is that it’s about a girls’ high-school volleyball team. She confirmed the news on Twitter, adding that the show is “about super inappropriate high school girls.” This is great news, because in the current domain of Glee and… Glee, we could use an actually realistic high-school show.
Otherwise, Mindy’s latest live-action project is a part in The Five-Year Engagement starring Jason Segel and Emily Blunt.
