Mischa Barton’s sudden hospitalization Wednesday has let to a lot of rumors, and right now it’s kinda hard to figure out what is true and what is just a rumor.
The “big rumor” is that the one from Access Hollywood, which has reported that Barton is at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles under “involuntary psychiatric hold” also called 5150 by the LAPD. By using this code, authorities are prohibited from disclosing information due to HIPAA privacy laws. According to the California Welfare and Institutions Code, the hospital can hold Barton involuntarily for up to 72 hours, Access Hollywood said.

People.com now has a story about Mischa Barton hitting a rough patch, according to her pal, who says:
“I don’t know if she really ever gave up some of the bad habits that had gotten out of control a couple years back,” the pal told People.com
The only thing I can say about her “pal” is she’s not much of a “pal.” Why else would she gossip about her friend when no one – especially this person – seems to know much.
So now Mischa’s DUI charges from last year, even though this has nothing to do with that situation, are going to be mentioned in every story.
I hope Mischa is released from the hospital soon and can tell the world in her own words what is going on.
Mischa’s movie Homecoming is set for a limited release Friday and production on her new CW show The Beautiful Life starts in just a few days. So far, TBL sources say Mischa’s hospitalization will not affect production.

I really hope that Mischa is okay…obviously this suggests not, but she will get through this. “I hate that people are thinking awful things about Mischa Barton” – me too. People are just insensitive. And Cheril is right, the media is now only going to focus on negative details such as her DUI….
The main thing is to wish Meesh recovery and that by some miracle this is left private to her.

I remember back when this site allowed the possibility of both sides of the situation. Now it’s being run by someone who refuses to believe Mischa might not be perfect. If you’re going to post news about Mischa, post it. No one wants your 2 cents about if it’s true or not.
Here’s the alternate for people who want to see both sides: Perhaps Mischa really does have a problem. Perhaps her pal came forward to shed light on it and get the girl some help. Maybe there are things that are going on that aren’t great. We all go through it in our lives.
So there are two possibilities here. Either Mischa is fine and it is a rumor, or she really is troubled and under a 5150. They are BOTH rumors. I swear, this is why I stopped reading here. She’s not a goddess. She’s a human being. Let her be one.

I do not believe Mischa is perfect and I do not treat her as a goddess. I don’t always like what she wears and I generally say so. You are right, she is just a human being and makes mistakes like the rest of us. Maybe more so.
Yep, right now I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt when most are not. This is a Mischa Barton fan site. However, I’m also talking about all of the rumors. And I have said in all of the posts, we don’t know right now what’s going on. Regardless of what everyone is speculating, until she is released we are not going to know the truth.
When the story first broke, the stories were about her reaction to her oral surgery. Then it changed to her being hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation, which I have reported. I have more stories I will post today that are all about the psychiatric evaluation, basically speculation from other media. I don’t see how I’m going to “spin it” to make Mischa look good, and I don’t plan to. But I always plan to give Mischa the benefit of the doubt. How would you like it if people always assumed the worst of you?
And I do have the right to give my opinion as long as I tell both sides.
