Mischa Barton was interviewed recently by the OK! (UK) magazine – discussing her breakdown, fame, weight and more. The interview is new, but the photos aren’t. You can see the magazine scans on Mischa-B.com
“Everyone assumed I was on drugs,” Mischa told OK! about her hospitalization in July. “I was just going through a hard time. I was horrifyingly stressed, but it all came from a place of stress. There was just too much going on in my life and my health wasn’t taking precedence. It all came at a really bad time.”
When asked if it’s harder to kiss girls than guys on screen, Mischa said it’s easier.
“You’re so much more relaxed filming and you can have a laugh. It can get a bit tense with a guy,” Mischa said.
For years Mischa has been criticized for her weight on both sides of the spectrum.
“I’m proud of my body. It’s either you are too fat or too skinny – you can’t win, so who cares. I eat healthy and sometimes I pig out,” Mischa said.
Mischa said she exercises regularly, enjoys pilates and walks her dogs often. When she’s filming, she will hike the canyons, step up her cardio, and run for hours.
With The OC syndicated in almost every country, running from fame hasn’t been easy. Mischa thought the paparazzi’s interest in her would have fizzled by now.
“Every day they intrude into my life. I can’t believe that I’m that interesting,” Mischa told OK! (UK). “I try to be as graceful as possible, but it can be difficult not to unleash your angry side.”
While she is used to it and tries to laugh about what she reads, it can be hard when the person she’s with doesn’t want to be in the public eye. Her family and friends help keep her grounded, living a normal life as possible.
“I still take the subway and do my own laundry,” Mischa told OK! (UK).
Calling herself extremely clumsy, Mischa said the paps enjoy waiting to see what she will do next.
“I’m ridiculously clumsy. You’d never want to date me. I’m an embarrassment,” Mischa told OK! (UK). “You wouldn’t believe the things I’ve ran into.”
