On NO! This was the saddest OC episode I’ve ever seen! I’m going to miss Mischa Barton’s character SO much:
Fox’s "The O.C." closed its third season Thursday with a deadly twist. Marissa Cooper, played by Mischa Barton, was killed in a car crash.
Barton’s character was central to the show, which follows four wealthy Newport Beach teens through the emotional ups and downs of high-school life.
Barton was already a familiar face when she began starring on "The O.C." in 2003. She worked as a model and appeared in several films, including "The Sixth Sense," and TV’s "Once and Again." She is also a spokesmodel for Neutrogena and the Collection bebe clothing line.
Rumors flew in recent months that she was ready to leave "The O.C."
Earlier this week, Barton told "Access Hollywood," "My character has been through so, so much and there’s really nothing more left for her to do."
Barton, 20, has a film arriving in 2007, "Guilty Pleasures," and other projects in the works.
Marissa’s death came at the end of an otherwise upbeat episode.
The class of 2006, which includes Marissa, Ryan, Seth and Summer, graduated from Harbor High School. Seth and Summer were accepted by the same college. Ryan was reunited with his mother, who gave him a Land Cruiser as a graduation gift. Marissa’s mom gave her a pearl necklace, while her dad gave her an opportunity to work with him on a yacht set to sail around the Greek islands.
Ryan was taking Marissa to the airport in his new SUV when they were antagonized at high speed by a drunken and vengeful Volchok, who they both had a history with. Volchok swigged from a flask as he chased the pair in his car.
Ryan lost control of the Land Cruiser and crashed, the vehicle rolling off the road. He pulled Marissa from the wreckage just before the vehicle caught fire.
There, on the side of the road, she died in his arms. Via Yahoo

Canada does rock. I dont no where i find out all this info. Im usually researchin it everyday on the internet. But my friend does everyminute adn he tells me the info. he learned.
But yah i dont really like the trailor season 4 is gonna suck

OMG.. we love the oc.. we were late in watching but we watched all of it and i cant believe that Marissa is gone.. like honestly.. come on from what i know most of the kida that i know that watch the show are not going to be watching it anymore. the thing i dont get is that they already had marrisa going away on a boat with her dad did they really need to kill her.. i think that there are a lot of angry fans out there.. and i dont think that ill end up watching the whole 4th season not with out marrisa being in it.. like she brought all the drama and made it interesting to watch..

sooooo sry to tell you ppl but marissa is dead, and she is not in coma, you ppl would know that if you watched the season premiere (bouh ur the oc’s biggest fan) hello if you haven’t noticed ryan and marissa’s mom met at marissa’s grave ….. newayszzzzz imma keep on watching, you neva know caitlin mite not be that bad, give it a try ppl !!!!

It sucks that Marissa is dead but im still watching cause i want to see Ryan hunt Volchok down and kill him Kaitlin Cooper was realli cool when Marissa was in it with her (apart from all the johnny trouble) but now the producers r just trying to replace marissa with kaitlin and its not gonna happen there will never b anyone like marissa

the first episode of season 4 was depressing without her

I think that the producers of the oc, really screwed up… They really shouldn’t of killed off Marissa, LIKE WHY’D YOU GUYS DO THAT?? See, i bought the other 3 seasons, now i don’t even want to buy any more… You guys better make the show better, and i really don’t know what you guys could do, but FIX IT, PLEASE!!!
i really think that marissa should have died.dont get me wrongi loved her heaps but i mean she had already done everything. the next thing she possibly could have done was become like a witch or something, being like the only thing that she hadnt done yet and that would have just ruined the show. but they need to change the theme song. cos i was so ready to cry at the end but then they changed the theme song to a not so sad one, like in 3rd season they had that slowish one and then they changed it to that shitty fastish kinda one. it ruined the mood. also marissa should have sed something like “i love you” when she died to ryan, then i may have balled my eyes out!! lol

KILLING MARRISSA OFF WAS THE STUPIDEST THING IN THE HISTORY OF TELEVISION! SO MAYBE SHE WANTED TO PERSUE HER MOVIE CAREER BUT I WOULD HAVE WAITED AT LEAST UNTIL THEY WENT TO COLLEGE! AND SHE DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO BE ON THE SHOW ALOT IF SHE WENT ON HER DADS BOAT THAT WHOLE YEAR! SO THIS LITTLE PROBLEM COULD HAVE HAD A MUCH BETTER SOLUTION WHAT WOULDNT RESULT IN THE SHOW BEING CANCELLED AND IF YOU DIDNT WANNA GO WITH THAT IDEA ATLEAST PUT HER IN A COMA SO THAT IT WOULD HAVE MADE MORE DRAMA! Mischa was the best thing on the show she was the bestt charrater and no one watched the show since she wasnt on it! and all the times they would mention her name or see a picture or anything relating to ehr was SO depressing also i went through a state of depression without her so why dont those producers think about others instead of always thinking about whats best for themselves! I don’t think you guys should of killed off Marissa because now The O.C. isn’t as good as it use to be. And now its depressing to watch since she isn’t in there. Everyone misses her i wish she could of at least gotten put into a coma temporarily.Her and Ryan were such a cute couple and now its not the same.
the oc producers didnt kill marissa off. she wanted to leave to have a solo carreer in movies.

2day was the last episode of the 3rd seas0n here in Greece…i actually cried when i saw marissa dying in Ryan’s hands..but also i was crying in the whole episode[graduati0n..in the model h0me where the first hanged out] i’m s0 depressed but hey!!! mischa is preparing s0me great projects n0w for her 0wn g00d

but the oc is still my best tv show ever.
ok so i think killing off marissa was the worst move for the oc writers. although marissa had been through alot, that is what kept the season going, season four in my opinion was a disaster. without marissa there wasnt much to do on it but mope around about her death. ryan with taylor–bad. and mischa barton i dont think has done that much really. nothing very big. then again, i probably dont notice much… but i think the writers should show the oc again and be like “what if marissa never left?” and start the oc from there i think it would be good cuz alot of people are really mad about her leaving. it could be a great thing for her career too. but overall, marissa was basically the drama of the oc for a lot of people.. it was ryan and marissa.
