Mischa Barton’s featured in the June edition of ASOS magazine

Here’s a fun behind-the-scenes video of Mischa Barton’s photoshoot with ASOS.

Mischa wears a Union Jack t-shirt with the British flag (she was born in England, though she does have U.S. citizenship now) and a cool vintage top hat during the shoot, as well as other outfits, including a long gold sequined dress by Terexov.

We also get to see her hair and makeup done and watch her acting pretty carefree in the video.

ASOS is an online fashion store that also does a magazine. Mischa is featured in ASOS’s June 2009 edition and also is on the cover. The name of the article on the cover is “They Said My Style was Nuts.” (Click here to thumb through the magazine pages online).

Inside the magazine, with Mischa is draped in her British flag t-shirt and top hat, are the words “Brit Girl.” There’s an awesome gotta-have dark blue snake drawstring handbag in the photo that says it will be available soon.

On the next page is Mischa in the evening gown. The quote on the page says:

“What’s nice about fashion in Britain is you get to be more eccentric and a bit more yourself.”

And it gets better. The next page features Mischa wearing a hot pink, purple, yellow polka-dotted romper suit by Vivienne Westwood, with shoes by Alexander McQueen. In all of the photos, the jewelry is from Mischa’s collection.

The black fringed bag we’ve seen Mischa with is now an ASOS exclusive overbody bag.

In the cover story, Mischa talks about her life, fashion and her career.

About fashion Mischa says:

“Everything goes in circles. A few years ago people thought I was nuts for wearing headbands and fringing, but things I’ve been into have kind of become more popular recently.”

Mischa said she grew up with photos of Marianne Faithfull and Anita Pallenberg on her wall.

“I”m a weird replica of the ’70s. But it’s cool to see that it’s back on-trend,” Mischa said.

Discussing her creative side (besides designing handbags, etc.), Mischa enjoys paint parties.

“We mess around and throw paint on canvases. It doesn’t have to be serious. Art is about enjoying yourself, a moment in time. That’s the most exciting stuff,” Mischa told ASOS.

On her new show The Beautiful Life, which will make its debut on The CW in the fall:

“It’s a realistic take on the (fashion) industry, an Entourage of the fashion world. It’s cool, The O.C. times 10!” Mischa says. “If it goes well it will be a huge showcase for fashion.”

And lastly, Mischa expresses her opinion of how she is treated in the press.

“I’ve been working my ass off but there’s so much over-saturation of people my age in the press. They think you don’t work and you’re not making films but that’s not true,” Mischa told ASOS.
