There’s been more official debunking of the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie rumors in the past couple of days. First of all, People.com wrote something that I thought was absolutely hilarious and really very fitting, all things considered. According to them, Brad and Angelina were enjoying a quiet dinner together when the split-up rumors first started up like wildfire. I don’t know about you but in all the times I’ve broken up with someone, I’ve never gone out to a quiet dinner with that person shortly after the fact!
I just think it’s so perfect that Brad and Angelina were out on a date together when the firestorm started!
Meanwhile, TMZ – who, I might add, have never shied away from trying to start trouble – even debunked the whole mystery around Brad’s real estate “cave” purchase. The story is that Brad had just bought a house next door to the one he currently shares with Angelina, with the home being described as having a built-in cave in the basement. The rumors that surrounded this new house was that it was going to be a bachelor pad so that Brad and Angie could split up while still living close enough that they could both see the kids at all times.
Um, no. According to TMZ, that house was actually purchased back in August 2009 which is way before any of this garbage started swirling around. Also, they explained that the reason Brad bought the house was so he could expand the sprawling estate he and Angelina already own. He’s certainly not the first celebrity to do that!
I actually wondered if maybe the house will have anything to do with wine. I’m not sure what this cave could be used for in other ways, but I did immediately think (especially after seeing the photos on TMZ’s site) that a cave in the basement would make an excellent wine cellar, complete with space to have a wine-tasting party in an interesting atmosphere.
Seeing that People is continuing to debunk the rumors didn’t surprise me, but TMZ is heavy on the paparazzi and gossip love. If even TMZ is standing up for Brad and Angelina then you know there’s something very wrong with the original rumor!
(I read both of these yesterday but I didn’t want to post anything to take away from the beautiful video of Marcheline Bertrand on the anniversary of her death. The video has been removed from YouTube with a thank you, but I’ve added another clip that Entertainment Tonight used if you missed it. Notice she doesn’t even bring the rumors up AT ALL. Good for her!)
Please Please don’t tell me it’s so over with Brad and Angelina. I love them so much and will continue to love them no matter what. They both have so much to lose, their beautiful children are the ones who are going to suffer at the end of this relationship. I just can’t believe in a split up with my favorite people. If it’s true I wish them and the kids the best…..
No matter what they talk bad a bout Brad or Angie. I love them forever

jpfanatic, i agree. i think the blogs, the fans, the antis, the entertainment news shows, and even the more respectable news outlets are more caught up with the tabloids than the JPs are. that’s why sometimes i laugh at lainey’s theories about brad and angie being uber controlling when it comes to their image. she makes it sound like they spend a large chunk of their lives planning and scheming as to how to market the “brangelina brand.” i don’t think brad and angie need anymore publicity than they already have. if the JPs paid so much attention to every tabloid article written about them, then that would eat up probably more than half of their time, and we know that the JPs already have a lot on their plate.
As a follow-up I was in an airport and someone was looking at all the magazines and said “I’m so sick of Brad and Angelina they are always everywhere. Why are they always on these covers.”
My answer: “Because people buy it.” Both literally, and figuratively people buy into all of that. I read an article about the “Brangelina industry” and how it’s extremely profitable to publish stories about them, regardless of the truth. A similar article was written about Britney Spears a few years ago. The Pitts’ are divisive – people love or hate them, and so while we rise to their defense, others celebrate. They write because it sells. I can’t imagine how they deal with it – I mean their children are going to be able to read these articles, it’s just so disgusting.
I think Angelina handles it beautifully. Her commentary on the situation on being accused of a homewrecker when she said “Do I have to defend myself as a woman? I hope not.” Even in these crises she’s got an amazing perspective and to me is still a role model.
Lucy- Good point! The tabs never claim that Jen is going back to Vince, Paul, or John M. (well, I think they DID claim that Jen and John were getting back together shortly after they broke up, but they do that with a lot of celebs who have just broken up. I’m referring to more long-term). I realize that none of those guys (except maybe for John M.) are exactly huge tabloid targets, but still!
UNDER MOD- Some quotes from the latest issue of PEOPLE magazine, and if they DID see a lawyer….
I just got my copy of this week’s PEOPLE magazine today, and they have an article about the split rumors and how they’ve been denied. While I was reading it, I came across this very interesting tidbit (to avoid confusing anyone, this isn’t actually in quotes in the magazine article. I just put it in quotes since I am quoting the magazine!): “Moreover, a source close to the News of the World says that the paper’s (meaning the alleged seperation agreement they signed) details were exaggerated: While newspaper staffers claimed to have seen a prenup-like document signed by Pitt and Jolie, it ddin’t detail custody or financial settlements, wasn’t drafted recently and didn’t imply a seperation.”
Also, just to assure the people who are worried about how all these rumors affected Angie and Brad, PEOPLE also has this quote from Lorenzo di Bonaventura, one of the producers on SALT: “I find myself rising to her defense, saying, ‘How can they say that?’ And she’ll say, ‘Come on’. That’s her attitude. It doesn’t make her crazy.” They also quote Eli Roth (one of Brad’s Inglorious Basterd’s costars) as saying this about Brad and how he deals with the rumors surronding him and his family: “Brad doesn’t get caught up in it.”
Bottomline: I think that, most of time, Angie and Brad honestly aren’t aware of what the tabs are saying to them (they themselves have indicated this several times), and I think all the rumors probably bother us fans far more than they bother Angie and Brad. :)
Also, if they DID see a lawyer, is it possible it was releated to an adoption (I don’t know much about International adoption, so I don’t know if you need to see a lawyer in your home country before adopting Internationally or not)? I realize that Angie will be filming The Tourist soon (although at the same time, if they’ve had an adoption in the works for awhile, I can’t see them saying “Forget it” just because one of them now has a movie to film!), so it’s probably just wishful thinking (but hey, if we’re going to be spreading rumors, better postive ones than negative ones!)?
Does anyone remember that when Brad and Jen separated they issued a statement to that effect. I feel that Brad and Angelina would do the same for the sake of their true fans. No statement No parting. And that is that!!!!!!!

Rumors Rumors Rumors!! Dntcha hate em!! The scary thing about this whole mess is that the rumors will keep on coming. I read in sum1′s comment that they felt that Brangelina should make a statement or public appearance well i dnt think they should have to!! I think that if they wanna make up mindless rumors about them than the fans have to come together and understand that these inside stories are actually outside stories based on assumption. I also read that Brangie were attending the Oscars to show they are still 2gether…none of this is neccessary!!!! They should be able to live their lives without having their relationship thrown into constant chaos due to other ppl who have no tru idea of what’s going on!!! God bless JP fam!

I don’t think they will be living in this house at all, I know they won’t the craftsman style house that Brad first bought (the main house) and remodeled is huge, this house is only 2 bedrooms. Most likely it will become a guest house, or maybe a school room, no cross that out not with the big bar and cave – maybe a party room with video games, pinball, pool table, etc that would be really cool. Or maybe they will just rip it down for more yard.

I don’t read tabloids, and I avoid sites like justjared and tmz, well the comment section at least. I do visit jj on occasion for pictures but thats about it. Other than the obvious, I have no idea what people are saying, and I like it that way. I think the biggest reason people want this relationship over is because they appear to have it all. Their both wealthy, famous, talented, kind, gorgeous, beautiful kids.. and quite frankly it pisses people off. They can’t have it, so why should Brad & Angelina? Some people will feel better about themselves if Brad & Angie no longer “have it all” and are hurting. Jealous people are usually hateful people and hateful people couldn’t care less about the children… its evil in my opinion.
The other day I came across a very nasty comment directed towards Angelina, and I just thought, are you kidding me? How can someone be that cruel. She’s not some invincible thing walking around without any feelings. She’s a human being, with feelings and they hurt and she cries just like everyone else. And I just thought for someone to actually post such a horrific thing and just disregard her like she is trash is so cruel and heartless. But no matter what she does, she will never please everyone. If she wasn’t as attractive, she would be called hideous. If her movies weren’t as successful she would be a “horrible actress.” If she wasn’t involved in charity people would call her selfish. If she never got with Brad and raised her kids as a single parent, they would put her down for not giving her children a father. If she married someone they would find something wrong with him. She can’t do everything “right” because what the hell is right anyway? Right is how we decide to live our own lives. Right is when your children look at you and tell you they love you. I just dont understand why people care how she lives her life. If you dont like her, don’t watch her films, don’t go to blogs where she is discussed, and don’t buy and read rag mags publishing B.S about her just so you can feel better about your own life. She isn’t apart of their lives so nothing she does is affecting them in any way. And I absolutely agree that it has so much to do with her being a woman. Though sadly I would be willing to bet that 95% of the people that are so hateful towards this lady are female themselves.
im so bothered about the news that angie and brad are splitting. I hoped this is not true ‘coz its just so sad. I just read the articles where brad saying that he is frightened for angie’s health and the children and he likes where he is right now. This breaking up news is too opposite for that article. It’s really hard to earn money these days and one controvertial news can cause tremendous damage to the most controversial couple. I hope the one who started the news feel a little bit of conscience in his body…well…i hoped he has one…

Haha Lucy. Your post brought tears to my eyes.. maybe its because its early and Im goofy but I was laughing out loud. I saw one at my grocery store for a quarter (25 cents) once and was thinking.. desperate or what!?
Tabloids are good for that nonsense with the old photo trick though. My mom called me a couple months back and said that she saw a cover claiming Angie was pregnant again and it pointed to her belly. She said she was pretty sure it was a photo from when she was pregnant with Shiloh.
I forgot to mention that i find that house Brad bought for the whole family really beautiful. The kids will have a lot of space to roam around and it seems to be really spacious.
cee – I agree with you. I can´t understand either why people temd to believe these tabloids? And most of all I wonder why these rags are recycling this age-old story over and over again. I, personally, have stopped visiting those rags´ sites a long time ago. Maybe they are publishing those stories because they don´t sell enough issues if Brad and Angie aren´t on the cover weekly. That is kind of sad. Lately tjhose stories have gotten even nastier and if I were Brad and Angie I would finally sue those rags. But by keeping mum those two prove that they don´t have to explain their private lives to everyone. They are happy together and that´s it. I really hope that the whole family will soon migrate to Europe and start enjoying their lives again. Here in Europe the paparazzis leave them alone. Sadly the American rags won´t be doing the same. Totally out of topic. There are new and very beautiful pics of Princess Zee on x17´s site. I think they were taken yesterday. Can´t believe how beautiful she has become! She looks absolutely beautiful in those pics. But please don´t read the comments! I didn´t because I know that they always are very hurtful. God bless the JPs!
Kim, I remember Angie in an interview speaking of how happy Brad is to goe in his (home?)office and create for hours. I think him having not only his own family now, but this huge extended one that seems to get together more often now has really wet his appetite for creating personal space that allows them all to escape prying eyes while having freedom of movement. The estate in France is probably a paradise for them all with the vast grounds, and this expansion in Los Feliz will probably replicate a bit of that.

One thing I forgot to say yesterday about the tabs.
Notice how they’ve picked photo’s that make Angie/Brad look like they’re muttering under their breath “I HATE YOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!.” They look pale, evil, unhappy and pissed, while on the other hand, Jen has color in her cheeks, a twinkle in her eye and a general look that says “HE’S BAAAAACCCKK!” btw, I’m not a Jen hater or disliker.
