There’s been more official debunking of the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie rumors in the past couple of days. First of all, People.com wrote something that I thought was absolutely hilarious and really very fitting, all things considered. According to them, Brad and Angelina were enjoying a quiet dinner together when the split-up rumors first started up like wildfire. I don’t know about you but in all the times I’ve broken up with someone, I’ve never gone out to a quiet dinner with that person shortly after the fact!
I just think it’s so perfect that Brad and Angelina were out on a date together when the firestorm started!
Meanwhile, TMZ – who, I might add, have never shied away from trying to start trouble – even debunked the whole mystery around Brad’s real estate “cave” purchase. The story is that Brad had just bought a house next door to the one he currently shares with Angelina, with the home being described as having a built-in cave in the basement. The rumors that surrounded this new house was that it was going to be a bachelor pad so that Brad and Angie could split up while still living close enough that they could both see the kids at all times.
Um, no. According to TMZ, that house was actually purchased back in August 2009 which is way before any of this garbage started swirling around. Also, they explained that the reason Brad bought the house was so he could expand the sprawling estate he and Angelina already own. He’s certainly not the first celebrity to do that!
I actually wondered if maybe the house will have anything to do with wine. I’m not sure what this cave could be used for in other ways, but I did immediately think (especially after seeing the photos on TMZ’s site) that a cave in the basement would make an excellent wine cellar, complete with space to have a wine-tasting party in an interesting atmosphere.
Seeing that People is continuing to debunk the rumors didn’t surprise me, but TMZ is heavy on the paparazzi and gossip love. If even TMZ is standing up for Brad and Angelina then you know there’s something very wrong with the original rumor!
(I read both of these yesterday but I didn’t want to post anything to take away from the beautiful video of Marcheline Bertrand on the anniversary of her death. The video has been removed from YouTube with a thank you, but I’ve added another clip that Entertainment Tonight used if you missed it. Notice she doesn’t even bring the rumors up AT ALL. Good for her!)
I went to google earth and looked up the compound very impressive, it also looked like when ever the photos were taken they were in the middle of re landscaping the lot. I would love to see what it looks like now. I would love to see Architectural digest do a feature on one of his houses just so I could see the before and after and figure out Brads style.
Sherry, thank you for Pittwatch, this is a quie place to go after all this break up rumors circulating in the internet & magazines. I wonder who was behind this?Uhmmm.

It is so sad how quickly people are willing to believe tabloids. These stories have plagued Brad and Angie for 5 years. Isn’t enough, enough. How mwan spirited can these tabloids be??? Or is it alway about the money and we know that Brad and Angie sell.
Elaine, personally I believe that when you have assets & estates, you need to legally protect them for your family. Donations are one thing, but you need to provide your family if anything goes wrong. Also guardianship for their children. don’t forget both Angie & Brad travel to less developed & war torn countries, their lives are at stake. Believe me, if I have that kind of assets they are not going anywhere but my family & children.
They still don’t want to let this go, do they? Those mags/tabloids probably aren’t selling well so they keep rehashing these things. God Bless the JPs!
Really it is very sad that Brad and Angelina have to put up with all these horrible stories. They haven’t issued a statement as to why they went to a lawyer and neither should they. Also the legal firm hasn’t said anything nor would they as would be sued, and their name would be finished. It could of been a new will, buying more properties etc, most of all they would not go out for a quite dinner if they were splitting up, or seen living in the same house. Just another tatic to make money from Brad and Angelina.
Geez, I really need to proof-read better! Obviously I meant “…Jen has met Shiloh, Jen has met the twins, etc….”! I DO know the difference between past and present tense! LOL!
Thanks Sherry for this post. I went to get groceries tonight and I am laughing at the headlines of the tabs. Lainey warned me alreay this morning when I read her blog that the tabs were still on the Brad-Angie-Jen stuff. I saw OK magazine headline that read: “Yes, Brad and Jen toogether again.” They posted and old picture of Brad and Jen that were pasted together from separate old photos. Brad has no beard on this photo at all. Ha-ha-ha. This OK magazine cost only .50 Cents. When will this ever end. Jen had Vince, Paul and John M. after Brad but the media seem to go back to Brad all the time.
original JPF, Jamie, and Sherry- I’m with you guys! That rumor, and all the variations of it (Brad’s calling Jen, Jen has meet Shiloh, Jen has meet the twins, etc.), always makes me laugh, too.
That being said, onto my thoughts on this post. I saw that PEOPLE article yesterday, and, like Sherry, I love it! It just goes to show that, through all of the ridiculiosness of the media, Angie and Brad just keep living their lives. :)

JPF- lol I would have lmao 2 if i read tht garbage!!!! Just as i did when a friend tld me that Angelina had committed suicide(or atleast tried 2)…I laughed right in her face (she was kinda offended) told her it was totally false and tho we dnt speak anymore I assured her that if it happened Sherry wuld kno!! :)
The thing I find saddest about this is how people were celebrating the end of their relationship on websites. When did society start cheering for the end of relationships where children are involved? And all this bogus about “Team Aniston”? If you are really Team Aniston I would think you’d be hoping she was over all this and not hanging around waiting for Brad.
As a fan of Angelina, who I find to be a strong yet feminine role model, I am amazed at how she is able to distance herself about the things said about her. As a woman I am deeply offended when people call her a homewrecker – having been cheated on it is certainly easiest to blame the “other woman” or “other man.” It is much harder to accept your partner made a choice. That said, there’s no proof Brad was unfaithful. To blame Angelina is not only wrong, but it is blatant sexism.
A similar situation arose when Ben Affleck pursued Jennifer Lopez when she was married to Cris Judd. He threw her parties, including a birthday party where he presented her with several dozen roses. And her husband was THERE. Did the tabloids call him a homewrecker when she divorced Cris Judd and began dating him? Was he called a slut or any of the other names hurled at Angelina? No he was not. Jennifer Lopez received all the attention in that case as well.
I like this website because it’s mostly positive and it looks more at the Pitts’ charity work, it’s balanced. I really wish, somewhat unrealistic I know, that people would stop celebrating others’ failures. I take no pleasure in knowing my ex boyfriends broke up with girls they dated after me, even the one that cheated on me. Especially in this case, they have 6 children. What’s there to celebrate?
Jamie, that’s what makes me laugh the most. How often does it happen that people get back together with an ex? Especially after five years. If, say, my husband and I split up next week I wouldn’t be calling up my ex from 11 years ago. It’s ridiculous for people to assume that they would ever reunite after all this time.

Thats even more idiotic than this whole breakup story in general is. Brad and Jen will never happen again. Even if Brad ever became single again…. it will not happen. I can think of many reasons why it would never happen, 1 being she would have no choice but to deal with Angelina on a regular basis as there are children involved..
Yeah I can really see that happening… haha.

Anyone else notice…..
how zipped shut and locked up tight not has the MSM (mainstream media) but the cable and legitimite online news ou tlets have become? It’s like one day they couldn’t shutup about “Brangelina,” and now? it’s like it never happened!
Personally? I think two things.
1. The so called MSM finally came to it’s senses re: getting into bed with the tabliod world and treating them as if they were anything BUT cheap gossip wranglers who play fast and loose with the truth and never lets said truth get in the way of selling swill.
2. I can’t help but wonder if someone’s lawyer called alot of other peoples lawyers.
Side note:
Saw the front of one of the tab’s today in the grocery and I laughed to the point that another shopper started laughing just because I was so tickled by the cover suggesting that Brad has started the process of transition by letting his kids meet Jen. LOL

I’m re-posting this comment of mine from the Perez Hilton discussing the rumors thread, since the commenting seems to have pretty much stopped there, so I don’t know if it will get answered there:
I will ask again, why does everyone think they actually did see a lawyer? Did I miss an article where that was confirmed (not being snarky, just honestly wondering)?
Anyway, I will post my thoughts about this post later. :)
