He spent three nights in a Nigerian prison, countless hours on the back of Mick Jagger’s motorbike and a few tense moments with a half-kilo of cocaine strapped to his body while a customs officer eyed him at an Irish airport.
Even for the free-wheeling 1960s, that’s enough adventure to last at least a few lifetimes. Jake Weber accomplished all of it before he was 12.
Come on. That’s a little crazy. You’ve already heard a little bit about Jake Weber’s childhood, and there’s got to be a lot more than what this article from People talks about, but even that is a lot. I’m sure Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are lovely people, but they wouldn’t exactly be at the top of my list of potential babysitters, you know?
While my childhood wasn’t nearly as insane as Weber’s, I do understand his need for a stable life, and I commend him for trying to make that happen. I also have to think that playing one half of the best marriage on television has to be at least a little bit theraputic, so here’s hoping that Weber can get past his childhood and maintain his happiness as an adult.

I saw that article too. What an amazing, crazy story, and what an incredible life he’s had. It’s so awesome that he turned out as (seemingly) well-adjusted as he did after such a turbulent childhood. Kudos to him!
And isn’t it great to see him getting some attention for a change? I love to read about all the Medium actors but there’s hardly ever anything written about any of the others besides Patricia Arquette. Hopefully that will change now that CBS is in charge of things.
I guess I must have triggered the spam filter with my first attempt comment at commenting, oops.
It is nice to hear about other cast members, Sofia’s had a bit, well deserved too, post My Sister’s Keeper.
Wow, I’m surprised he didn’t go through what Drew Barrymore did, but it seems as if she has turned herself around nicely now.
