More on the film that Pitt is directing that Paltrow will also be starring in… The movie, Dirty Tricks, focuses on Nixon’s rocky presidential years.
The film – which also stars Sharon Stone, Meryl Streep, Jim Broadbent, Annette Bening, and Jill Clayburgh – will cover the Watergate scandal during which Martha Mitchell, played by Streep, blew the whistle on her husband – Nixon chief of staff John Mitchell.
Gwyneth will play Maureen Dean, the wife of John Dean who, unlike Mitchell, stood by her man as the Nixon team went down in scandal.
The story ends by saying they don’t yet know what Pitt’s part will be. My sources tell me he will be producing it, but won’t star in it (as I reported earlier today) possibly because of his relationship with Angelina, despite the director’s pleas that he star opposite Paltrow.
I checked the Plan B Entertainment upcoming projects on 10/31/06. It has a long list and interesting casting. First one listed was “Atlas Shrugged” yes people, beside it says co-production, there is “Wanted” starring Jennifer Aniston and Meryl Streep (already planned before the divorce); a movie starring Johnny Depp, a movie starring Bill Bob Thornton (Yap Billy Bob).
“Dirty Tricks,” I click the details it is still listed Brad as producer and included under cast of this film under Gwen’s photo as Mrs. Dean, is Brad’s and Sharon Stone with no titles. Just their pictures left blank. It didn’t say “in talks” or “announced.” So I guess, Plan B (headed by Brad Grey and Brad P) have no hard feelings among the exes. I wouldn’t be surprise if Johnny Lee Miller would be one of the cast in the future.
I have to research this project more under Plan B Entertainment if Brad will produce, direct or be in this movie. It seems like other stars are hurting in the box office and when publicists place their name with Brad kind of saves their standing. After Gwen won her Oscar, her movies seem not to top any box office and especially when she took a hiatus to have children. So, taking a nostalgic path to have her name in lights to be part of the Brangelina world is not a bad publicity. Laineygossip.com adores Gwen and was so excited in her blog as if Brad is sure to play opposite his ex. Time will only tell (and of course Brad).Brad has that movie with Blanchet/Ormand, and Roberts. Speaking of exes, when JA was still with Plan B, they had a project called “The Senator’s Wife.” JA is the producer now and initially Brad is supposedly going to be in this movie too but now IMDB had JA only in their information. In short, all these exes want to be with Brad to save their careers? Thanks Jared for the article. I will miss them if they move to DC since I am a California resident.
JPF, I guess I thought I wrote it but I didn’t. Sorry about that. I don’t have any unpublished entries, so I don’t know what happened to that post. It clearly isn’t on the blog now.
The gist of it is that the director really wanted Pitt to star opposite Paltrow and he refused, purportedly to avoid getting close to his ex while in a committed relationship with Jolie. The news was earlier this week, before we even knew what part Paltrow was going to play (Dean’s wife), so apparently the director wanted Pitt to play Dean (which would have been actually a really good role for Brad).
Kathy and Madd, I saw those pics early this am and fell back to sleep befroe I could post them. I could kick myself LOL I’ll put them up ASAP!

When was it stated that Brad was directing? This is the first I’ve heard of that one.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt spent their first day in the city closeted in their hotel. The Hollywood couple landed in Jaipur on Wednesday.
Superintendent of police VK Singh, who is in charge of the Sanganer airport area, told the Hindustan Times that the stars were on a personal visit and hence, there was no need for them to inform the police. “They just want to spend some quiet time with each other. There is hardly any security risk, which is why the police have kept away from them,” he said.
A senior city palace security official, Narayan Singh, said that Brad was in the city to shoot for an ad film and his cameramen had spent an hour and a half at the palace.
Sources said Angelina and Brad might take some time out to select a location for their next film. The managers of the hotel where the two are staying were tight lipped about the details of their celebrity guests.
