This is up here a little late and some of you have discovered it already, but my season 6 preview of Medium is up on CliqueClack TV.
So one thing that I touched on but didn’t talk about too in depth in the preview is Joe’s job. I read all of your comments, and a recurring theme is how tired many of you are of the constant state of flux Joe’s career has been in during the past few seasons. While I do think some of the related stories have been interesting, I do agree that it has been to large a part of the show recently.
The premiere brings good news and bad news on that front: Joe is no longer working in California, meaning that once again, he’s out of a job. I can’t get into the details of how they handle this in the episode, but I will say that there’s some swift forward momentum. While it will be an issue for a while, I don’t believe it will be a season-long plotline.
So leave comments, either here or over at CliqueClack, and let me know what you think about the premiere! What do you hope happens?

I’m really looking forward for the new episodes! And I think that it is rather interesting that things isn’t what they have been the last 5 season. That they add some twists andshake tings up. Like Ariel for instance, that she gets more “room” in the show. More big storylines. And I like that her kids getting older and can be a part of her work. Now that she not have the same powers, well, mayby the younger ones don’t halep that much but Bridgette have been helping her in the past, so who knows? And that Joe is unemployed, again is kinda “fun”. That they have more problems more then that Allison is recovering from her tumour and that Ariel is getting more like a teenager. So I think that the show needed these changes if they r planning to keep it alive for a couple more years. So this is gonna be really interesting! Btw, I think u r doing a great work with this blog and all that u wrrite bout Medium Kona. And if someone finds the preview and can watch it who isn’t in the states, please link to that site, I really want to see it.
I am happy to hear they will be shaking things up for season six. After 5 seasons they need to do that to keep it alive for more.
Kona, I also think you are doing a fantatic job with this site. You asked our hopes for season six so here are some of mine.
1. I hope the writers shake things up enough to give us a few more seasons.
2. I hope they don’t focus on Joes job anymore-It has become a real drag.
3. I hope they make Allison’s dreams be wrong occasionally and maybe have people suffer the consequences of it. If Allison is always right it makes it too simple.
4. I hope to see Scanlon and Dinovi’s storyline more. I like them especially with a baby.
5. I hope they do more suspenseful episodes like “We had a Dream”
6. I hope they also do fun episodes again as in “Better off Dead”
7. I love the episodes where they add music. I hope they continue to do that.
Kudos to the music guy on the crew too!
Definitely have Joe’s job situation resolved pronto and spend as little time as possible in his workplace when he gets a job.
I hope they get back to the ghosts visiting more. I miss them.
No more possession story lines! Too much already, although I hear we will have at least one with Ariel.
I think it would be fun for the kids to expand their gifts to help out, but being kids, you don’t want them to get the murderers, creepy people ones either.
Loved the Four Dreams episode, We Had a Dream, and Better Off Dead, too, so it would be great to see episodes like that. I loke the “gotcha” episodes when they deal with a perp who thinks he’s gotten them beat and they get him! Or her.
I hope Allison gets a friend she can trust – like the lady from the first part of the series – someone with similar talents who she can confide in, especially when Joe doesn’t “get it”.
Strangely enough, I like the episodes where Allison finds the buried bodies – remember the one where she lays down on the golf course and and pats the ground where the little girl is buried? Chilling, but so good. The other one where she finds the body in the desert.
i forgot my hopes for this season in my prev.
1. I hope they don’t focus on joes job to much, it’s really boring.
2. I hope they do more episodes like “The song remains the same” (I really loved that one! Or more like the one where Allie gets deaf. I like when the dead persons personalitys reflect on allie, like when she switches body or someone “jumps in” to hers and she dont remeber anything from the last 6 hours or so.
3. I hope the give Ariel more space, I love her caracter (and sofia off course).
4. And I hope Bridgette gets another kind of “gift”, well its the same as ariel and allie. But like she gets more like in another area like Marie, cuz she cut joes papers and knows witch staks (how do you spell that?)or stuff. It’s kinda fun that not every kid got the same gift eventhough it is, but like a diffrent kind of the same.
5. I don’t remeber but is Allisons mom alive? Cuz If she is I think it would be fun if she came to visit. And if she is dead it would be fun if she came to visit more then to.
6. And i hope allison gets som faults in her dreams so it’s not just right all the time. And mayby she gets some help from ariel?
Only 3 days left !! I liked your preview at cliqueclack Kona. Here are my hopes for season 6:
I hope they shake things up but also keep it real so we can still relate to it. I like the way Joe and Allison argue like normal married people. I like that they dress in normal clothes, that their house looks a little cluttered. I like the breakfast scenes as a normal family.
I hope we don’t have to deal with Joes job situation much longer. There has just been way too much of it the past few seasons.
I also liked those episodes mentioned above – Four Dreams, We had a Dream , SOS, In The Rough(with the girl buried underground) and And Then. So, more like those would be good.
I like the visits from ghosts- less possession storylines.
I hope to see more of Scanlon and Dinovi.
I hope they bring back Allison’s brother Michael(Lucky).
I would like to see the younger girls just be like normal children not have to deal with so much scary psychic stuff.
I think it would shake things up if Allison had a dream where she was totally wrong and everyone had to suffer from it. I think that would make an interesting show.
I would like Joe to get a steady job, one that he’s able to keep.
More of the same from the Dubois family – no nasty, grizzly dreams for Marie. I like how they’ve developed their abilities so far.
I wanted one of the girls, Bridgette or Marie to show an interest in space or stars, since that’s Joe’s passion. I loved school trips to the observatory.
More insight into what growing up with the gift was like for Allison.
Visits from Captain Push, Joe’s dad and Michael.
I also wouldn’t mind an episode where Allison was wrong, especially since she’s already presumably doubting her abilities right now.
And a christmas episode. I know we’re getting a halloween- themed one.
The premiere sounds exciting. I like the idea of the twists, surprises and shaking things up.
My number one hope for season six is that they spend as little time possible on Joe’s work. I’m tired of it.
I would also like an episode where Allison was totally off with her dreams or powers and then have to deal with the fallout.
I hope to see Allison talking with the Ghosts. My favorite was when her real life husband played her ex Clay. It would be nice to see him come back.
I hope to see more of Scanlon with Lynn and the baby. They add a different perspective to the show.
I hope they have more exciting episodes that keep us on the edge of our seats like We had a Dream,Four Deams and the one with the little boy in the toy store.
I hope to see Allisons brother Lucky again.
I hope they don’t involve the kids in the scary dreams. Let them be kids. I like it that they are basicly a normal family aside from Allison’s powers.
From reading Kona’s preview the season premiere sounds like it will be a great episode. I am so looking foward to it. It sounds like they are making Ariel’s character more interesting this season.
My hopes are that they spread the wealth around and don’t focus too much on any one character or situation.(Otherwise it gets stale like with Joes job).
I hope that we don’t have to see Joe at work anymore or hear too much about his job troubles either.
I hope they have more ghosts and less possessions this season.
I hope they show more of Scanlon with DiNovi and their baby this season. They have a really interesting relationship.
I hope they have more thriller episodes like We had a Dream.
I hope they have more two or three parter episodes. They are always very good.
I hope they have more famous guest stars like they have always done in the past.
BTW off the topic, I was watching Lifetime Channel and they showed a promo for Medium . It was the one with Ghost Whisperer. I think it’s great they are doing that.
Read your review, Kona. Great. Makes me even more excited for the premiere this week (as if that were even possible, lol!) Can’t wait!
[...] The season 6 premiere is a really strong episode, and I honestly do not have anything bad to say about it. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be something in episode 2 that will bug me, or episode 3, or so on. There’s nothing more boring to me than reading blind praise. I firmly believe that you should praise what is genuinely good, and point out what doesn’t work for you. [...]
[...] First they give Allison physical disabilities in addition to temporarily losing her ability to dream, then Ariel gets possessed, and in this week’s episode, “Pain Killer,” Allison doesn’t catch the bad guy. Well, that’s not exactly true: she catches him, he confesses, yet justice does not prevail. As frustrating as that is, it makes for an interesting episode. [...]
[...] ran the season premiere, “Deja Vu All Over Again,” and it was down slightly from the last rerun that they aired two weeks ago. Medium garnered [...]
