Thanks SO much for telling me about those YouTube vids NathanFAn. It only cements in my mind that had things gone a little differently, had Toby waited one more week to leave and perhaps even if they hadn’t revealed that James was saved, it would have been Nathan standing alongside Stan at the finale. What he pulled out at rehearsals was so much better than Hayley and James did on the night.

I hear what you’re saying Nathan Fan #2 . I hear pitch problems in Stan sometimes, particularly when he’s delivering a song that requires a lot of energy like Eye of the Tiger. When he stands still it all seems a lot more controlled. I think he’s got an amazing presence, and a real musical gift that once trained up could be breathtaking. He’s not Nathan, he’s not my favourite, but he’s done a lot to impress me nonetheless.

I also agree Nathan should not have gone, but I more so, cannot believe Stan is still there. Can no one else see the arrogance ooze out that guy?
So many people say his voice is flawless. I have to disagree totally. He makes many, many pitch mistakes, and his high tones are not great. I don’t think he is at all Idol material but of course, my opinion is just that. An opinion.

I thought Nathan was brilliant throughout the competition. I was eager to see him perform week after week and I couldn’t take my eyes off him. Almost every performance he gave, WAS flawless, so his departure is extremely unwarranted.

I wish all the contestants luck but I seriously hope Stan doesn’t win. I guess I’ll have to check back here to see if that happens, since Aus Idol 2009 is over for me with Nathan’s departure.

Nathans rehearsal footage of the songs he was to perform on power ballad night have been released onto youtube, if you type in Nathan Brake – who wants to live forever , NathanBrake – you took the words right out of my mouth and Nathan Brake- The flame they will come up THEY ARE AMAZING HE WAS ROBBED !!!

I definitely agree Trics. I think Nathan has grown in the recent weeks more than any other contestant, except perhaps James who was undeniably getting better. But James still was nowhere near the level that Nathan was – performance wise, vocally, Nathan was doing everything right. I’ve seen lacklustre performances from everyone but him in recent weeks. I haven’t been this disappointed in Idol since they sent Ben McKenzie home a couple of years back!
