I don’t know about any of that other stuff you said, but your last comment is exactly why all of this was started and it has been the main point of what I have been saying anyway. Charity workers usually have the best intentions at heart – but there is nothing wrong with asking questions before supporting any charity. Those that have proven to be legit should not be bashed by those who are not and are only out to hurt others because they were not allowed to weasle in on what the good guys were doing all along and they are just pissed and want to bring the others down. I believe that every charity group that is working in admiration of Taylor are good groups and can be trusted, including purple butterflies and the troop drives and KOPS. The only two that were in question, and for good reason are the two that were exposed here in this wonderful blog! Thanks, Jeanne! You rock!
Y’all are too much. I was at a concert and ***** told a security guard that she worked for Kid one and had to go back stage to talk business with Taylor. Then she told several of us she was trying to get rid of ***** because she had to go back stage to talk to Taylor. She didn’t know we heard her say that stuff about Kid one. Y’all don’t know who is out there pretending to be a charity. Don’t give if you don’t trust it.
***sigh***
Jeanne,
Just out of curiosity, would you mind telling us how many hits you have gotten since this thread started? I hope tons. This would be a great starting off place for some to find out the truth or at least have the option to decide for themselves. Thanks.
Hello Clingy,
I agree with you to a point. I think that some of the time, the troublemakers just act on impulse. They don’t really think and then ultimately, do stupid things and don’t realize that others are paying attention. Like the posts from the two websites mentioned. How could someone not know that this would not be found out or seen by some of the same people that visit more than one board? That, is when I think they are not rational nor think they have done any wrong.
I do think that some of the time, they know what they are doing. Another words, they manipulate and strategize as well as plan and sabatoge people and boards. I tried to think of a reason that would make sense to me as to why. I agree with a poster that said (in so many words) that it is to stir the pot, cause people to get angry and create havoc.
I also agree with you that this seemingly bad person on this thread that you identified as using other screen names, is indeed using many. That part is obvious and I appreciate your pointing it out to begin with. I had to laugh when I saw one post back up another and then another talking to their ownselves. Funny, but also very sad. Sad when it happens on the boards too. Who has all this time? One who makes a living off the boards. The dichotomy of it all is that they create the chaos and then run around trying to undo it all just to do it all over again. I would say it is worthy of a healthcare provider.
Lastly, I agree that for the most part, it seems that there are good people still out there in Taylorland. Good people that devote their time and energy for others. They deserve a standing ovation. Others that jumped on that bandwagon with falsehoods and evil intentions with monetary gain at the expense of others but are being found out. I don’t think that it will be long before someone spills the beans on, ONE in paticular. How could this go on for as long as it has? Beats me! Stranger things have happened.
Maybe just maybe, because of Jeanne and her blog, which will be a definate place that I will refer to several of my soul patrol friends/buddies and her willingness to bring attention to this without scensorship. I love her attitude and her sense of opendoor policy to facts and opinions.
When we were introduced to Taylor and all the boards started popping up, they gave us a place to go, socialize, idolize and keep track of what what was going on with Taylor. It was over on TOSP that I believe the first charity project began with the first Soul Patrol cookbook to raise money for Kid One. The group that created this cookbook decided to continue their efforts and formed KOPS. Other groups began to follow suit and did work for different charities – and for the most part, were trustworthy and, well, seemed to be doing so with good intentions for the groups they worked for. Nothing wrong with that. Of course there were a couple of groups, one in particular, that wanted to create her own business, capitalizing on our sweet soul man using the SP to do it. Again – it’s a free country, and whether any of us liked what she was doing and how she was doing it, she had the right to do what she wanted. We, as members of these sites didn’t really pay this person much mind until she started running her mouth, boasting about her “relationships” with Taylor and family and that’s when we started to see animosity on the boards. Most of the problems stemmed from her associates, or one in particular, that had previously caused problems for the group that created the first cookbook – most people that have been around since the beginning know this or of it, anyway. As groups, such as KOPS, worked diligently for the Soul Patrol and Kid One, it really seemed to bother this group of KOPS success and caused – or tried to cause problems for them. What they didn’t think of or understand is you can’t hurt groups like this when they are doing nothing wrong. But KOPS wasn’t the only group she/they would attack on the boards. Snide remarks here and there, questionnaires, drilling the groups just trying to find fault with them. But because these groups where open and honest about what they were doing, they found nothing and all they did was dig their grave deeper with each jab at them. The SP saw this – would come to the good groups defenses, but bad guys wouldn’t go away. I guess they were not going to be happy until they destroyed the good these groups were doing in Taylor’s name, for charity. I guess when you are successful, those that aren’t become bitter and will do what ever they can to make a mess of things. We have all witnessed this on the boards. The sad thing is, there is no dealing with people like this because they actually believe what they are doing is the right thing. Just like here, most of us just wanted answers and accountability. Instead, we got the same crap from those unhappy people and saw that they were again not willing to act like adults, but try to hurt others that had nothing to do with any of our posts and questions. What we have to remember is with every post we continue to make, or questions asked and explanations requested, they are going to come back with more bashing, threats of lawyers, again showing their true colors as they have done in the past.
What’s the old say? “You can’t deal rationally with an irrational person” That is the case here. These people really believe what they are saying and are not the least bit interested in truly examining themselves and what was being asked of them. They were right and everyone else was wrong. Their pathetic little lives revolved around nothing but getting to Taylor, and their actions proved that and continue to prove that. The cool thing is the questions were asked and things were pointed out that needed pointing out. Whether you liked what you read or not, that was your choice and as with anything else, take it or leave it.
As far as other groups on the sites selling their products in the name of charity or not, as long as they were and will be up front and honest about their motives, who cares. Visit the threads or don’t. Buy or join in on fund raisers or don’t – it’s your choice, but don’t bash any of them for doing what they are doing just because you have chosen to believe a few freaks that want nothing more than to destroy a good thing. What you should be more concerned with is information that is or isn’t given to you by groups like the ones that were addressed here. Ask questions, demand accountability and decide from there based on what you have or have not found out from them if you support them or not.
There are a lot of good people on the boards, a lot of great people doing wonderful work for charities and I for one will continue to support those I trust – which is all of them except the two addressed here. I have no reason to not trust the others or to not support them. But these two… oh, yeah – there is reason.

“I am irritated that people like answeredallready -and all the other newer people on this site *all of a sudden* are talking about people that are in business and devote money and time to charities, to people that go onto a celebrity’s fansite and then promote their business off of a celebrity such as Taylor Hicks, and then tell us that it is the same as any business?”
All I did was reply to a comment that took purplebutterfly to task for promoting her charity on fansites. If there had been no original comment, there would have been nothing for me or anyone else to reply to.
In addition, your summary of my post doesn’t match what I actually said in my post. I made no comment about purplebutterfly or anyone else going on a fansite and promoting their business.
What I did do was ask a question: what is the difference is between purplebutterfly’s jewelry business conducting a charity troop drive and ExxonMobil donating money to Idol Gives Back? Both companies are getting exposure due to their charity work. So what is the difference? What makes ExxonMobil okay but not purplebutterfly’s jewelry business?

“WHY are these fans FIRST on the FANSITES allowed to show their businesses ON THE FANSITES. Does that mean that I can go onto these boards and do the same thing? Everyone on a board can do the same thing? Everyone can have a chrairty and advertize their business?”
Good questions.
Have you gone to each fansite and asked them what their policy is about members promoting their businesses?
What about their policy regarding charities? Do they allow all charities to be promoted automatically, or do they have certain requirements that must be satisfied before any promotion can begin?
For charities that are supported by businesses, do the fansites allows those businesses to be promoted and/or linked to?
The questions you’re asking, shampatrol, can only be answered by each fansite individually. You’re not going to find those answers here.

Taylor’s fansites are not there to support other people’s businesses.
With all due respect, is it not up to each fansite to decide for themselves whether they will allow their members to promote their businesses to the other members of that site?
Never goes without saying…and I don’t know you Clingy…but, you hit the nail on the head. The one that posts as an imposter and then comes back as herself from time to time, has attacked me and my sister (whom I have just alerted to this) whenever she gets the chance. I don’t even have to say her name…think those that have read what Karen has stated…plus the exchange of an email…should make those out there know that this person is BAD NEWS! I do hope that this gets back to the ones that have no idea of her backstabbing and deceitful ways.
Karen, keep up the good work that you and others do that actually have no bad intentions. This is my honest opinion.
The boards have become a haven for trolls and what I mean by that, are people that pretend to be Taylor Hicks fans and then bash him. Then they turn around and plant opposite opinions on different boards just to cause desention. One of those is on this thread. Same one that is out to make money off of Taylor…that is her career. She is NO fan.
Let me give you a for instance…no names used…you know who it is from above. The first post is from one board where joking was going on and harmless chat about Taylor’s door company that he is part owner in. People having fun. The second post is from another board where trolls are swarming like fish in a fishery, packed in like sardines allowing no one to post honest good supportive comments about Taylor. Ok…have you all got it…#1 is on one board and #2 is on another board in order as to their posts. This second post caused the mods there to assume that the first post was meant in a derogatory way. Of course, this is the kind of banter that goes on anyway on that particular board. If this person lives and breathes causing problems on Taylor’s fansites…why does she have the followers and their trust? Why would Taylor’s people have anything to do with her? Here goes:
#1
I’ve read this thread from start to finish. Who knew the door business could be so controversial …. (Poster not named)
And if Taylor doesn’t go back on tour soon, we’ll be fighting over who left the top off the toothpaste.
This is all his fault ya know. (Poster not named)
Who did leave the top off the toothpaste?
(This is the poster I am referencing…no problem with this post, right? Just kidding around. All using smilies laughing.)
NOW Ready? She goes to another board…and writes this.
#2
(This poster is not named but is a mod)
Thanks XXXXXX, but what happens on other boards is beyond our control, and is up to the admins of those boards if they decide to condone such actions.
If someone has something to say about us as a staff or as a membership on another board/site rather than make it an issue here, not only is it a clear case of lack of maturity on the poster’s part, it’s also on the other admins on those boards/sites if they choose to let it continue. On my own boards that I run, it is against the rules to bring up business at other boards or to carry over disputes from other boards solely in the interests of keeping peace and to not create tensions between sites/boards.
)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
(Here she is in all her glory…this was posted right after she posted the other in FUN on another board…)
I totally agree with you on that. I’m totally blown away by the bashing and total lack of respect I’m seeing out there.
As someone posted on another board….”If Taylor doesn’t give us something new soon we will all be fighting about who left the cap off the toothpaste”
_____________________________________
Alright people…See the kind of disturbance that she causes…I am sure she will run back to those boards and delete like a madwoman…I am sure plenty of others have seen this and the way she manipulates and trolls…this mod went on after reading her post and ranted some more! LOL
Would you think that this person should be a representative for Taylor Hicks and a charity?
BTW…Even though I have not mentioned her name here…Let me remind her. When you write on a public forum…that has become the property for the public. You can not do or say anything about it. Don’t threaten to sue me again either. You wrote it, I have it copied just as I have other things copied and pasted. Now, don’t you regret having brought up my name here? Glad Jeanne has allowed this thread…some very good questions and some great answers.
I also hope Taylor does show up for those that paid alot of money to go. However, it is questionable…he might… is what he said on the radio yesterday. I would have gone to this convention but feared for my safety as I have been repeatedly threatened over and over again. With my photos online NO FRIGGIN WAY!
I’m sorry, but letitrest – what the hell are you talking about??!?!

shampatrol aka Blondebabe or Missy Scarlett,
Any one who wanted to buy a booth package could. Where was all of the support early on for Harmony? KOPS & Taylor’s Angels refused to deal with them. Now that there is a possibility that taylor may show up maybe they will pay the booth price.
This is not exclusive, it was open for anyone who has a business license and who would agree to donate to the charities.
My question, where is KOPS , where is Taylor’s Angels? They did not step forward, IMO they won’t. – - – End
First of all, I have no kowledge of who you are. Second, while I’m aware of Idol Stalker, I have not posted here. You’ve accused me, used my screen name and I don’t appreciate it. I was TOLD from someone who does read this blog, that my screen name was used in a negative way. You are wrong.
Jeanne, I would appreciate it if my screen name is removed from this person’s post, it’s embarrassing and not true. Accusing somone of making comments on a blog is unfair and childish. This has happened before and I didn’t like it then and I don’t like it now.
Opinion….PLEASE refrain from using my screen name in an accusing way, I do not appreciate it. Whatever the issues are on this topic…bear some scruity, as apparently there is some legitiment debate here. Thank you to the blog owner Jeanne for a place to discuss these important issues, but I do request my screen name not be bantered around in a negative way. If I did post here, I would use my name. Thank you.
MissyScarlett
I always find things out from a blog that I belong to as to the fact that my fansite name has appeared here and for what reason.
Greetings All…………Wow, what a mess!
Still not getting the point. WHY are these fans FIRST on the FANSITES allowed to show their businesses ON THE FANSITES. Does that mean that I can go onto these boards and do the same thing? Everyone on a board can do the same thing? Everyone can have a chrairty and advertize their business? MY GOSH…that would be all there was. I just think that these folks should not be selling anything ON THE FANSITES nor allowed to post about THEIR BUSINESSES. Not right! Taylor’s fansites are not there to support other people’s businesses.
Clingy can probably put it alot better than me. I am irritated that people like answeredallready -and all the other newer people on this site *all of a sudden* are talking about people that are in business and devote money and time to charities, to people that go onto a celebrity’s fansite and then promote their business off of a celebrity such as Taylor Hicks, and then tell us that it is the same as any business? OK, if that is the case, then EVERY fansite needs to let people know that we can all do this. We can advertise our business all over the place, because I am not getting that from the boards. I don’t see other people’s businesses advertised. Also, I think most of these are online businesses too. Not even have a store or an address for an actual business. Man, that sure was a cheap way to get rich quick. Hats off to all you users for being so clever; You will get your comeupons!
hey letitrest….will see ya at the Boil! always a good time. don’t really like the new location, but still had a great time last year.
“Sorry, but I don’t agree. Kid One is not being shoved down anyone’s throat. The projects and work they do is posted for those that are interested in hearing about them. No one is forced to participate no one is forced to visit any thread or read any post on any board. If you don’t want to read the posts or participate in the fundraisers – don’t.”
Clingy now your position is that we all have a choice in who we support and who we don’t correct? In your many earlier posts you claim the opposite. Which version is it now? The way your post reads it’s ok for some charities but not others.
I find it odd that for someone so diligent about checking charities and organizations that you are taking this current view.
ummmmmmm very interesting. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
letitrest: I personally have nothing against Kid One but I am sick and tired of having this charity shoved down my throat and I’m sure others feel the same way. It got to the point to where almost all the fan sites had to create a charity forum and it was blanketed in Kid One.

Looks like this bickering will keep on going till someone is slapped with a law suit.

It got to the point to where almost all the fan sites had to create a charity forum and it was blanketed in Kid One. Everyone made a bee line to Kid One only because of Taylor’s ex who worked there and nothing more.
Taylor has made it crystal clear that he supports other kids charities and his actions are proof in this fact.
Kuddos to Harmony for including Make A Wish and also to Bluz for moving forward and not boxing yourselves in. Taylor has moved on and maybe the rest of you should also.
To whoever mentioned the crawfish boil….I’m so there.
Hey guys, could I ask a teensy favor? Could we not publish Karen’s last name? I think we all know what it is by now but I’m just making this one small demand.
Thanks.

“AnsweredAlready,
Sorry, but I disagree with you on all counts regarding 19 Entertainment. I’ve never seen them in evidence for other celebrity events unless it’s someone whose signed with them in that capacity. I don’t trust them and my God, anyone in their right mind wouldn’t! They treated Taylor disgracefully.”
If there is one thing that the majority of the Soul Patrol can agree on, it’s that 19 Entertainment is the bane of our existence and that we would be happy to never hear their name again. Unfortunately for us, they are a very large media company with many holdings. I seriously doubt this is the last time that they will be notified as part of a large press release send out to media companies regarding Taylor.

“You can say what you want about this convention if you so decide to. I don’t like the concept of it at all…because I’ve seen the behavior of most of the people who are involved. Don’t want to be associated with them.”
As a reminder, the only things I’ve said regarding the convention are that I’m not going and that I’m not affiliated with them. I have not said anything about the convention concept or the behavior of the people who are involved.
So why did you mention those things in your reply to my post? It would make sense if I had included them in my post, but I didn’t. Are you interested in discussing the issues involved with the convention and trying to get answers to those issues, or are you only interested in letting everyone know that you do not trust the people involved and think the entire convention is a sham?
Karen,
It’s obvious from this last post that you continue in wanting to keep this going and the door open for people to keep asking questions on this subject. I’m not sure what your motives are at this point but it doesn’t matter.
You also forwarding this email from a certain party to a 3rd party only proves my point. Not to mention you did not obtain permission from that person to do so which violates her privacy.
I do hope this matter is put to rest and that we all move on with our goals and our lives.
Peace,
Jamie
