“Loves me, loves me not. Loves me, loves me not.” It’s been a wild rollercoaster ride with all the news and gossip about a HEROES cancellation, but it seems now we’re heading onto some direction. At least there’s a hint that HEROES might stay beyond it’s season 4 run.

One troubling development was the casting of Sendhil Ramamurthy on an NBC pilot REX IS NOT YOUR LAWYER to air next year. A lot of people speculated that HEROES is ending its tenure at NBC, hence the new job for Sendhil. We also saw Sendhil’s screentime on HEROES reduced to virtually minutes, which makes a career move perfect sense.
According to a HEROES insider that Screenjunkies used as source, everything about what we’ve read was false! Apparently, Ramamurthy did get a pilot so he asked the HEROES writer to write his character off, to which they obliged. And this Monday, Kristin of E! Online reported that Sendhil has been pulled back into the HEROES roster to continue his role.
Going back to Screenjunkies, their source told them it’s unlikely that HEROES will get cancelled anytime soon because of the show’s worldwide reach (in fan followers and DVD sales!). Besides, HEROES is nearing it’s 100th episode, and that makes it a bonafide asset for “ancillary ventures”.
So, maybe this means HEROES is sticking around? Hope springs eternal! Plus, it looks like the new Comcast owners of NBC like HEROES.
(And just FYI – Jerry O’Connell replaced Sendhil at his role in REX.)

Until NBC makes it official, I will wait patiently before doing any celebrating a new season for Heroes.
