New Dr. Oz Show to Be Based in Manhattan

A new medical daytime talk show will be hitting the airwaves this fall.  Dr. Oz Dr. Ozwill be the first Oprah Winfrey-produced show to be filmed in Manhattan (at a yet-to-be-determined studio at NBC headquarters in Rockefeller Center).

"We considered both Chicago and New York as a potential home for the ‘Dr. Oz’ show," Harpo spokeswoman Lisa Halliday said.

I think this is a good decision since Dr. Oz is on staff, as a heart surgeon, at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

"Dr. Oz’s heart is in New York, from his career as a surgeon to raising his family," Halliday said.

It’s tough to move so I’m happy Dr. Oz will get to stay with his hospital and that his family won’t need to be separated/uprooted.  I like him a lot and I’m really excited to see what his show will have to offer!

My husband and I are both cancer survivors. I was diagnosede in 1994 with an inoperable malignant brain tumor followed by a stroke in 2006, caused by the radiation for brain tumor.

My husband survived testicular cancer diagnosed in 1994, and multiple myeloma and amyloidosis. He was treated with an autologous stem cell transplant which was quite successful. Unfortunately, he now suffers from peripheral neuropathy. His amyloidosis fluctuates. One option is to do another transplant, but he is not ready for that.

Are there any other options available?

I would like to see a show about Psoriasis. What people can do to self help. What new advances in medicine can help. What people who are afflicted with this feel. Anything about this subject would be good to enlighten people. Also psoratic arthritis…I know how I feel. I have had this since 1989. No one talks about it, except maybe in commercials. I belive I was let go from a job because of it. PLEASE DO A SHOW ABOUT PSORIASIS.

My sister called me yesterday to see if I was watching Oprah with Montel Williams because he was discussing his Multiple Sclerosis. I quickly turned it on but it was almost over. I also have MS-related 24/7 horrible pain. I was glad to see Dr. Oz was also there talking about it.

I also have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which, at this point in my life is almost as life-disrupting as the pain from M.S. I have found a wonderful website run by a gal who has I.B.S. with pain so bad she used to pass-out from it a when she was 9 years old. She has tried and tried to get Oprah to do a show about it but without success.

I beg you Oprah and Dr. Oz to do a show about I.B.S. as the number of people who have it is astounding and much greater than those of us with M.S. Please, please go to Help for IBS.com to meet Heather Van Vorous and hear her story. You could help hundreds of thousand of people.

It was just a matter of time before Oz got his own show! If Oz already works in NYC, there’s no point in uprooting him/his family to relocate. Glad to learn the Dr. Oz show is coming to fruition, and I hope Oprah does not leave regular, network Television.

Hello my name is Danielle and I am a big fan of Dr.Oz.What I learned from the doctor is to listen to your body and not to give up trying to find out what’s causing your symptoms. For two years now I have been having problems with the left side of my body.I have a problem with my left ear,it rings,it’a clogged,it feels full with fluid and has pressure.I get haedaches on the left side of my head right behind the same ear.I’m dzzy most days.My left side of my body is now getting numb.I have been to 2 E.N.T.’s, a neorologist,an allergist,I have had an M.R.I of my brain,I have had an ultra sound of my arteries to check my blood flow,i’ve had an E.n.g ang hearing tests.I went to a balance center because the neorolgist to me I had vertigo, the balance center told me I did not have vertigo.I have been on antibiotics and and was precribed a 7 day steroid nothing helped. The last E.N.T I went to said she didn.t know what was wrong with me so she prescibed Paxil to me to help me “deal” with my symptoms.I did not take the prescription from her,I left the very frustated because I am dealing with my symptoms I just don’t know where to go next.I was wondering if Dr. Oz would have any suggestions for me.

    thank you

I have learned a great deal from Dr. Oz and enjoyed each show. My daughter has had 4 heart surgeries. The first three were at Boston Childrens Hosp. and the last one was done by Dr. Quaegebeur at Columbia. I have spent so much time in hospitals I was able to take the written EMT test and pass (that is learning the hard way) I would like to get tickets for the show if possible. Thank you for your time.

After watching a rerun of Oprah and you regarding living to be 125, I decided to try to contact Dr Oz. In the past three years I had the opportunity to live close to a small mountain in Las Vegas which became my exercise program. I cannot begin to tell you how it changed my health. Also while watching the program, I was mopping my large kitchen floor and would like to share with you how I do that and what a great exercise cleaning your home can be. I am 62 and very active. I do all my own lifting up to about 50 lbs and know the more I do the better I feel. Since I was 19 years old I have been in 2 car accidents, a ski accident, a roller coaster accident and also got tossed out of a hammock and hit the bone behind my right ear extremely hard. I have vertigo as a result of the ski accident 25 years ago and was diagnosed with Meniere’s disease this past year. I injured my lower back when I was 19 and to this day the more active I am the better I feel. I look forward to your new show and if you ever need someone to back up your claims to good health and pain free living, I would be happy to assist. Thank you.

I’m more than thrilled Dr.OZ will have his show in N.Y. I live in N.J.,ten mimutes away from the hospital Columbia Pres. I can’t wait for tickets to be in the audience or be on the show. Both my parents are patients with heart problems and other medical issues and they go regularly to Columbia Pres. Hospital.I have been to that hospital numerous times because of my parents being patients there more times then I wish.I have never run into Dr.Oz at the hospital and believe me i’ve looked. That hospital has saved my parents lives.I have watched every show Dr.Oz was on including Discovery Health.I follow his advice and can’t wait for the show.I even went to Atlantic City to see him even though he lives 5 minutes away from him.Of course you can tell i’m a HUGE fan of his and will try for tickets to his show when he has his own wedsite. If you know how to get tickets Please contact me. Thankyou.Patty

I am a 2time breast cancer survivor. Had bilateral DIEP flap procedure 3 years ago and now work with women at all stages of treatment. Please do a show on this latest reconstructive option, and the shocking fact that only 25% of patients are told about breast reconstruction.

I’ve been trying to get ticketing information for you but I don’t think they’ve announced this yet. The official site will be http://www.droztv.com/ but it’s only displaying the press release right now.

I will update this thread when more info becomes available! :)
