New York Goes to Hollywood: Season Premiere

nygth-logo.jpgWell, the premiere of New York Goes to Hollywood aired Monday night on VH1. Tiffany Pollard AKA New York asked the channel to help her become a real actress so they agreed to set her up in a house for thirty days in Hollywood.

The show began with Tiffany interviewing potential assistants. After several interviews, including one where the interviewee says, “You don’t need an assistant, you need therapy.”, our beloved New York hires Lizza to help her reach stardom.

Lizza plans a showcase for New York at the Acme Comedy Theater. There are many things that New York has to do to prepare for her performance. First, she decides to visit Barry’s Boot Camp for a little workout. However, she doesn’t seem to take it very seriously because she shows up in high heels.

Next, she has to memorize a monologue to perform at the showcase. While trying to feel out the character in the monologue, Lizza mentions that she thinks that the maid is probably British. In response New York shows off her attempt at a British accent.

Her first attempt sounds very Australian Outback and her second try reminds me of the Lucky Charms leprechaun. LOL!

In the meantime, Lizza has hired an editor to put together some clips of New York on The Flavor of Love and I Love New York. The editor seems to be a pretty big slacker and barely gets the tape done in time.

Tiffany almost loses her ever famous temper over the situation. She calls him a, “fat, nasty, greasy, bitch” and blames Lizza for the whole debacle.

Once the showcase gets into full swing, New York gets through her monologue without doing too badly…although, I wouldn’t compare her acting chops to the likes of Dame Judi Dench.

The most unfortunate thing about the showcase is the fact that Tiffany sits backstage for so long talking about her performance that the managers she invited leave before she comes out to greet them. Overall, the venture was less than successful.

I think that this show is going to be very funny. I mean, leave it to New York to show up to a place called Barry’s Boot Camp in platinum white high heels and no sports bra. She could have put an eye out with those things! ;-)

It looks like next week she might be getting an acting coach and an acting partner. Have mercy on all of them!

After viewing this show I know she is NOT really trying to become an A-list actress. This is just another reality show from VH1.

She would be funny if her attitude didn’t stink along with this dud of a show.

  2. Soloved

I think New york has a great personality but I don’t think she will be a great actor also I think the show is really dry and really really boring.

  3. ¡Niggarita!

…another dull and boring show. I really like her style (hair, clothes and make up) but seriously…she’s just way too ghetto. She has no class.

New York show really sucks, she might as well go back to having a reality t.v. show about how to fall in love with a lot of men that she knows nothing about. She has already shined and she needs to go back to New York and continue to be a chicken head.

  5. Francky .

New York show is very nice. I can only encourage her to pursue her dreams. good luck and remember i love you very much. Francky

well i agree with you all when you say how dull and predictable the show is but i also heard on this weeks show she got a call from someone to do an i love new york 3 and if this is true then i’d say we all wouldn’t have a problem with that but thats just my opinion

Ummm. Call her dull, call her boring, but at the end of the day she is on T.V getting paid and she is funny. So hate all you want, she is no fool I mean she got you watching and making comments. lol…I love New York… we all have a little New York in us. She will make it big.. She already there…. big up Miss Palmer…..

First off to begin, I am not hating i am merely expressing my opinion on the show. i watched only the first couple of eps because i couldnt sit through anymore. If you ask me i prefer to watch an I love NY 3 than this, I find it more entertaining.
