I haven’t seen a statement from Nicole Kidman’s camp saying that this story isn’t accurate, so I’ll report it. If it turns out not to be true, I’ll update this post. Anyway…
Heat Magazine has a quote from Nicole Kidman and it is taking the internet by storm. Nicole tells Heat magazine, “It’s a pity they have been manipulated by the father to distance themselves from me.”
She’s obviously speaking about her children Isabella and Connor Cruise.
She said she tried to arrange a Mother’s Day visit, but the kids ended up spending time with Tom and Katie instead. “They are closer to their new mom now,” she admitted.
I know that we all saw pictures of their kids on Mother’s Day and they were with Tom and Katie. I really hope that this story isn’t true because if it is, it’s just awful. I can’t imagine not being able to spend Mother’s Day with my kids. I know that we don’t know everything about Nicole, but it has always seemed to me that she was a good mother and that she loves Isabella and Connor.
I’ll keep an eye out for any statements made by either party…

Their stories about growing up in, living in and finally escaping from this –according to a recent finding in the UK court-system- cult tell so much about this. All the rumors about NK being a ‘bad mother’ and not caring are part of the whole fair game system. Since she didn’t join, her kids are probably being told she is an SP-enemy of the church. Don’t know much about the publication itself but what better way for NK to have ‘deniability’ than to put her story out in a lesser publication? Her story gets told, she can deny it as — a consider the source–.. In fact, I look for her to deny it. At the end of the day, all the people involved are victims of COS even TC– although he is probably too far in to be able to get out at this point.
Concerned mom, come off it. This is heat magazine. I hope you apologise for the rant when NK’s camp comes out with a denial.
Having said that, I am shocked that someone who cannot move closer to her kids can turn around and complain that they are distancing them from her. I am only saying this if this is true, which am sure it is not because I can’t see Nicole telling heat magazine this. British magazine are the worst when it comes to sleeze.
Any how, she was helping her husbadn in rehab in 2005 for 6 months and went off to Europe to do movies for most part of 2006. I hope she bought a house in LA as rumours have it because as a parent, you have to make sacrifices when it comes to your kids.
for once, i agree with part of what lauren says. nk needs to move closer to her kids, as hard as that may be. i would have moved in next door to the tiny little c—- and made sure i was there to see my kids every day. of course, tiny tom hasn’t been home much over the past couple of years either so it’s doubly sad because they had neither parent. if you’ll recall, he has been galavanting the world with his third wife and his magical child. of course, you’ll never see that noted in lauren’s comments.
Sometimes I wonder just how gullible Nk believes the public is.
She is actually accusing her ex-husband of manipulating their kids who are now teenagers, teenagers whom she herself said have a say in where they want to be. She had no complaints about previous Mothers’ Days………..Not last year, not in any if the previous 7 years since her divorcefrom TC.
She had no complaints of manipulation or distancing when she had Bella in Australia last year and taking her into a salon and her wanting to have her hair dyed blue, no complaints when Conor spent several weeks as she said working on the set of Australia last year as well.
She had no complaints of distancing or manipulation when she took them to the Nickelodeon Awards last year.
This is the same mother who says she moved to TN for her personal life, has made comments with regards to her kids that gas made even her most ardent supporters cringe.
I sincerely hope that those remarks are not attributed to her.
Mary, you obviously know little about mothering. Those kids belong with her.
Tyler Bella and Conor were with Tom when he was filming M:I:3 in Italy and for some of the promotion.
I am not at all sure about Germany though.
I think these quotes are a lie. The magazine saying it is a trashy tabloid magazine like UK version of Enquirer. I doubt Nicole Kidman would give them an interview. I’m pretty sure this one ain’t true. There are no pictures of it. And I’ve only seen one source for it. The only source it originally came from was Spybiz UK

I think that our culture is so far down. Just wait till we have our own 9.0 Earthquake here, and everybody remembers the humanity and stops with all this trash talking of other people, especially people they don’t know. It needs to stop.
I just noticed something funny. All those little circular balls surrounding Nicole. I wonder what they are. Looks like drops of water.
I will believe it is true until I hear otherwise. After all, if the tabs make tt look good then it’s true so vice versa is only fair!
I am not saying that I believe this particular publication at all. Just saying that if NK wanted to get a story out about her side, it would be a good place to put it out there–as she most surely will deny this whole story. I don’t believe she is coming out yet with her side of the whole situation, but when and/or if she does–she could blow the lid off the whole cult. I believe the smartest thing for her to do is to go completely public because that is where her greatest protection lies. Like Jason Beghe–what can they really do to him now that his story is all out there?? Good move.
Not a fan of NK’s either but I think she has quite a story to tell of her own-Moving to LA will be a very good decision for her. However, as she moves there, of course TC and crew are probably moving to NY for a while for the play. If it were me, I would live wherever my children were.

For NK to come out with her side of the whole situation she would have to explain how as a mother she did not fight for her children or made any effort to be near them yet she could make comments like she moved to TN for her personal life.
I think Kidman has too much to hide and will therefore never talk against Cruise or COS. If her kids are being kept from her, all she needs to do is call her lawyer. Those rumuors about a house in LA were denied by both her rep and even her husband in a recent interview. As far as sacrifices go, Kidman was quoted recently as saying that her kids have to sacrifice because of her career. They have to travel the world to see her. I’m sorry, but the kids are the last ones who should have to sacrifice. Also, this is Kidman’s third Mother’s Day in row that she didn’t see her kids. Last year she was filming in Australia and the year before that she was filming in New York. Maybe having a biological child of her own will make her maternal instincts kick in and make her rethink some of her choices and maybe slow down in her movie making. She already has close to a half dozen projects lined up after the baby comes.

First…I doubt she said that. She’s never spoken negatively about Tom with regards to the kids, and I don’t think she’d start in a British tabloid.
Second…am I the only one who finds it odd that NK spent a ton of time with her children until KH made her appearance in Tom’s life and Tom started speaking so enthusiastically about Scientology? There must be some explanation for why she was such a big part of their lives until then, and then she suddenly spends so little time with them??? It makes no sense!
i think andrew morton described nk, in his book ,as cold @a prima dnna. i will also call her a hypocrite . ”i am so shy nicole”, that is her favourite phrase, did’nt think of her 8 @6 yr old children when she appeard totally starkers on stage every night ….the difference between her @tc, is ,she’ she’s sly; @ he says whatever comes to mind…….seeing stepmothers don’t have good reputations, kh must be doing something right………i don’t believe you can buy a 15 @13 year old , paticularly when they have had everything money can buy all their life.
OMG! You’re arguing over a quote made up by one of the worst trashy tabloid magazine? Heat is like UK version of Life & Style and Star magazine in the UK. If NK gave an interview to that magazine then I’m George Bush. That magazine only gets interviews from the likes of Big Brother rejects, they never done an interview with an A List celebrity.
If this turn out to be true then NK once again has used TC and the kids.

Yes, Andrew Morton said a lot of things about NK. I haven’t read the book but from the reviews I read the books says she wasn’t/isn’t a good mom. Maybe they divorced because of that.

For me, the thing I took away about this book is the patheticness of Nicole Kidman. Tom came through reasonably unscathed, but she comes accross as extremely snobbish, demanding and insecure. I was pretty impartial to Tom Cruise before reading this book. but I am now a definite fan. I am also not a Scientologist. I don’t agree with the religion, but as far as I am concerned, he can follow any creed he wants.

I was expecting a “tell-all” and scandalous account of Tom’s life, but was pleasantly surprised to learn that this is not the case at all. Actually, most of it is very flattering to him, as far as I am concerned.
He comes off as a very likeable, lovely and caring human being. If anything, I admire him more now than I did before reading the book, and I was a huge fan even before reading it. He seems to be a lonely young man seeking approval of his fellow actors and wants to be real friends with them, not just working acquaintances. And if the book is true, they all respect and like him and have remained friends with him and have been his good friends for years, like Sean Penn (I was surprised to learn that they were ever friends) and Emilio Estevez. The other actors that he has worked with have nothing bad to say about him. The
ex-wives come off much worse, which surprised me greatly. I was a huge fan of Nicole Kidman and always assumed that their divorce was Tom’s fault, and that she was such a nice, sweet young lady, but have revised my opinion of her after reading this book. She treated Tom unkindly a lot of the time and did not appreciate the wonderful manner and ways that Tom tried to show his love for her. And Mimi Rogers doesn’t even deserve a mention, she was too old for Tom to begin with! I have never understood why he married her and am still as puzzled about that as I was before the book.
Tom seems to have been a better father to the two adopted children, Isabella and Connor, than Nicole was/is then or now. The only one that comes off really bad is the Church of Scientology.If the facts in this book is correct, and I can’t verify if they are or not, but if they are, then this place is NOT a Church, it is a CULT, not much different than Jim Jones “Church” was, and we all know how that ended. But this cult caters to the rich and famous, and has grown into a world wide organization. I think the people involved in it are drawn to it because of the other celebrities that are involved in it. They can pretend to be religious without really being so. But there is no sense of God or Jesus Christ in this place, only L. Ron Hubbard, and why they are all so fascinated with him, I can’t figure out. He sounds like an old drugged up hippie to me, who eventually lost his mind before dying.
But to each his own, if the members haven’t figured this out on their own, then no one can change their minds, they will have to come to that conclusion on their own. But I cannot condemn Tom Cruise for belonging to it, nor for his loyalty to the “Church.” The last time I heard, we have freedom of religion in this country, so why deride Tom or any of the members of this place, they are entitled to belong to whatever institutions that they choose to, they are free citizens. But I cannot give it the title of “Church” as it seems more like an exclusive (for rich folks) country club than it does any spiritual place. But read the book and make up your own mind. This is what I got from the book, perhaps you will see it differently. However, Andrew Morton has not done a “hatchet job” on Tom so don’t expect that. I am glad that I have read this book, it certainly was not what I was expecting.
when suri was born and all the news,was, who sent gifts @flowers etc, when they wrote that she sent a bouqet, she intructed her publicist,wendy something or other,to deny it…..saying ….”miss kidman did not send flowers”, promting one journalist to write , that some things are best left unsaid! ………..every body , is so bent on blaming tc for everything under the sun that they choose to ignore things or overlook them…….. i cannot believe that he felt comfortable or happy having his wife parade around the stage every night naked, seeing he does come across as a bit possessive……..

This is NOT true. There is no pics of the kids on mother’s day. The pics you’re talking about were taken a day before mother’s day.
hana…..you are so right, i think mary said the same thing,the pictures of the cruise family were taken day before mothers day …….all it takes is one person to write something and everybody follows suit.
Tyler, when Tom was at each of his children’s games, they said he was using them for PR. Now whenever we don’t see him with them for a spell, he has abandoned them for his golden child. Either way he can’t win. These children are teenagers who have a say in their lives. You can’t just haul them form place to place like that. By the time Katie’s parents went over to see her in Gr, am sure Bella and Connor did too. Just because there are no pictures does not mean it did not happen. After all we only see a teeny weeny fraction of their lives.
I am glad every one can see and judge for themselves. Annie, I noticed that people rarely do research but as long as some thing is negative about TC, they are inclined to believe it.
If this is true, and that is a big IF, then she should be ashamed of herself. Uma Thurman moved to NY across the street from former hubby after a bitter divorce to be near her kids. Most mothers do anything to be near their kids not whine about it.
I don’t believe this BUT if this turns out to be true then I’ve lost any respect I had left for Nicole Kidman.
How many times is she going to use Tom Cruise and the children?
How many times has she said the kids love LA and that she trying to find a place to be close to them? How long has it been since she first said that and where is that place in LA??…she is looking for a house to be close to HER CHILDREN and not looking for a bloody needle in LA! The fact that she is willing to put the blame on “the father” whom she has said nothing but good things about being a husband and father for PR once again so publicly then she is not fit to be a mother!
Never claimed that the Travolta allegation was on a COS website Hana…..the allegation was made by a Mr/Mrs. Kenney who have voiced their opinion regarding autism and the COS. The other article was from an interview with LRH’s biological son in 1983. What I copied and pasted was not “nonsense” as you so eloquently put it, but mere public information from three individuals that have gone on record to quote and share their information and experiences. I located the quotes/interviews and thought it appropriate to post. It may be interesting to some readers to hear the other side of the COS from one of its former creators.

I don’t know if this story is true or not, of course, but even if it is then I do not blame NK for saying something like this if it is true. To be kept from your children would be a terrible thing to go through and to have them turned against you is even worse. Anyone who says otherwise obviously does not have children or has never gone through a divorce where children are in the picture. Yes, it is obviously not good to bash your child’s other parent and to keep personal details private BUT if Nicole is being kept from her children then what recourse does she have? I think that it is all fine to keep things private and to keep your personal opinions about your ex-spouse out of the picture but Conner and Bella are old enough now to hear BOTH sides and to make a decision for themselves. Also, people can say all they want about how NK should have bought a house in LA to be nearer her kids and she should have this and she should have that BUT what is the point if she is NOT allowed to see them? She could live in their back yard for goodness sake but if she is not allowed to see them then what would be the point?

Someone posted quotes from her stating LA is a big draw for the kids and I need to find a place there to be close to them (meaning she can see them).
Over the years she had no problem and she has said nothing but nice things about both the children and their father, and that is the reason so many are saying this is not true but if it turns out to be true…why now? And why say all those things about the children over the years? Isn’t she contradicting herself?
If this is true, they’ve joint custody and if she cared enough for the kids why not fight for them? Afterall she’s willing to talk about this in the media…

Morton mentions in his book that Nic visits by web cam because Cruise WON’T LET HER SEE THE KIDS!! This statement in HEAT mag. is something that is already common knowledge.
I read in WOMAN’s DAY earlier this year that Katie has expressed concerns that TC won’t let Bella and Connor see their MOM!! I think KH is very well aware of what will happen if TC trades her in for a younger model. She will be visiting Suri by web cam!!

What about telling the press that your two-year old bio is your only reason for living? That impacts teens.
What about telling the press that you can’t leave your bio child home when you travel, but you can dump the adopted kids in camp for the summer and move them to their aunts house while you live somewhere else with the wife and toddler? That has to hurt.

Jenna, some great points. Thanks. Back to Jane, if this unauthorized biography wasn’t negative on TC, why did the author and his family go into hiding before its release? And why did they not release it in the UK-when the CoS threatened serious lawsuits?

And Hana, just as TC says he is going to separate his work from his ‘religion’ he is extremely busy trying to get celebs of ALL ages into the cult. All kinds of stories hitting the web on his recent attempts at friendship with young celebs as well as well known ones. Friendship, when you are a COS member means one thing to TC and that is to draw them into membership in what he considers a higher plane of existence.
