Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were among the many celebrities who got dolled-up in black tie to attend the second annual Art of Elysium Charity Gala last night.
The event’s theme was “Heaven” and it was held at The Vibiana in Los Angeles. Filmmaker, Jim Sheridan was in charge of the theme and will be responsible for all the visual aspects. Actress Eva Mendes was honored with the “Spirit of Elysium” Award for her dedication and contributions to the organization.

Founded in 1997, the Art of Elysium’s goal is to lift children’s spirits through art. It does so by encouraging actors, artists and musicians to dedicate their time to children who are battling serious medical conditions by offering workshops in acting, art, comedy, music, fashion, radio, songwriting, creative writing and more.
Other attendees included Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, Demi Moore, Tobery Maguire, Courteney Cox, Liv Tyler, Rumer Willis, Gerard Butler and many more. The event was chaired by Rosetta Millington Getty & Ryan Kavanaugh. and sponsored by Cartier, Vogue and Relativity Media.
Nicole looked stunning in a simple, strapless white dress and Joel put out all the stops with a three-piece suit, complete with matching gloves and coat!

you know what’s weird? Nicole is becoming like joel and copying his mannerisms and mugging to the camera. Just scroll through all the recent pics on this site of nicole at events. she has the EXACT SAME “smile” and facial expression in everyone! Just like Joel always sports the same mug.
the only way you can tell the photes were taken at different times is by the outfits. weird, so plastic. it’s like just moving mannequin heads between dressed bodies.
personally, i thought nicole was good in Simple Life and I’d like to see her try and do something more substantial besides just pose on the red carpet at different events.
