Nik Pace Demands $70,000 in Child Support

According to the New York Post, Nik Pace, runner-up in Cycle 5 of America’s Next Top Model, is demanding $70,000 per month in child support from her son’s father, NFL star Braylon Edwards. Braylon Sr. makes $5 million a year as a wide receiver for the New York Jets.

Braylon Jr. was born in Georgia in August and Braylon Sr. apparently filed to be recognized as the father there. Nik rejected the deal and tried to move the case to New York.

“Braylon had tried to get the case litigated in Georgia because they are traditionally less generous with child support payments. It’s a cold, calculated act to pay less money,” Nik’s lawyer, Raoul Felder said. “But we had the case dismissed in Georgia and moved [it] to New York because this is where Nik lives. We served Braylon in the past week. He can run, but he can’t hide.”

Braylon claims he tried to file his petition for fatherhood because that is where Nik’s main home is, it’s where she votes and where Braylon Jr. was born. He claims she only moved to New York recently so he could be a part of his child’s life.

Boy, does this sound messy! While Nik deserves as much money as Braylon can afford to ensure their child has a comfortable life, $70,000 seems like a lot. However, I don’t know enough about the case or Nik and Braylon’s relationship to really comment.
