Kim Kardashian, who is famous for her infamous sex tape with Ray J, her vapid reality show, and her gorgeousness (you can’t really deny that she’s beautiful), is now saying that she doesn’t see herself being able to adopt a child – and that it’s her personal choice. Here’s what she had to say:
I don’t want to adopt — that’s my personal choice. If I am blessed to have kids of my own, then I want to do that. – source
Honestly? I’m impressed at her forthrightness. Adoption is such a popular choice these days that it’s starting to become trendy, which does no one any good, least of all the kids. If she doesn’t think she is able to handle the unique challenges that adoption brings, good for her for realizing that NOW, rather than after the fact.
Seems like a really out of context quote. I suppose others in her social circle are adopting? There are some celebs who adopt for the “right reasons.” Ewan McGregor was so floored by the plight of the children in Ulan Bator, Mongolia who UNICEF showed him were living in the steam pipes under the streets that he tried to adopt a girl while in the middle of his round-the-world motorcycle adventure. The government wouldn’t allow it, so instead he paid for her care until adulthood at a good orphanage school in Mongolia. He was able to adopt legally another girl who he met at an orphanage, although the legal process took another two years. Even celebs have hearts big enough to love abandoned children.
