No Britney on “Idol” Anytime Soon

During their last season, while Britney was getting herself together for a new album and maybe a tour, we heard many speculations that Britney may be invited as a guest judge on American Idol and as the new Idol season is set to premiere early January, USMAG spoke to Nigel Lythgoe, Idol’s head honcho about a possible Britney appearance this season. It appears as if Lythgoe has no plans for Britney as of now and if nothing changes probably not anytime soon.

“I would have had Britney Spears last year when I thought she was trying to get it all back together again,” said Lythgoe, to Us. “Britney, at this moment in time, I don’t think is well enough to do anything … I think she needs to pull herself together.”

Spears is an “exceptionally talented girl,” says Lythgoe, but “needs taking care of right now.”
