Norman Mailer has died at the age of 84. Norman Mailer was a 2-time Pulitzer Prize winner and a huge name in the US literary scene. He died on Saturday of kidney failure.

Norman Mailer made a guest appearance in Season 5, episode 6, in "Norman Mailer, I’m Pregnant." In the episode, Norman Mailer has laid claim to a table at the Inn for long periods of time, while only ordering Iced Tea.

When I heard I just went “Awwwwwwwww!!” and my friend who was with me was like “You know who he is?” and then I said “Yeah” and then they said “What did he do?” and I said “He was an author” and then they said “How do you know?” and I said “Because he was on an episode of Gilmore Girls!” and they just laughed.
