Finally!! The music video for Jay-Z’s song “Run This Town” has been released. The song is oh-so-special because not only does it feature the rapping talents of Mr. Kanye West, but one of music’s leading ladies, Rihanna also lends her voice to the track, which is off of Jay’s upcoming album The Blueprint 3.
Anthony Mandler directed the music video and told MTV what he was going for,, "I wanted something that didn’t fit into ‘this is New York, this is a building or a street [you know].’. I wanted it to feel more ancient. I wanted it to feel more European, but on American soil. I didn’t want it to have a framework, like, ‘Oh, we’re riding in New York.’ "
Jay says of the song itself, , “It is pretty much about evolution and the progress. You start out as new artists and you make your way into the game and you climb that mountain and you get to the top and you put your flag down."
Rihanna has very obviously climbed hat mountain of success. Of course, the song is great. Totally catchy and fun to listen to. Then again, when you have some of the biggest names in the industry, it better be good! The music video is fierce! Rihanna looks like a dominating hot mama who undoubtedly…runs this town.
