On The View: Blagojevich Considered Oprah for Senate

Was Oprah Winfrey close to being appointed to the now scandal-tainted U.S. Oprah Winfrey Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama?  Yes, she was if you believe anything embattled Illinois governor, Rod Blagojevich, has to say.  He spoke of her power and said that Oprah is "an African-American woman who probably by herself has more influence than 100 senators."

Upon hearing this, Oprah told her friend Gayle King on her Sirius XM show, Oprah and Friends, this morning that she had missed hearing Blagojevich say it live but added: "If I had been watching from the treadmill where I’m usually watching, I would have fallen off the treadmill."

He first appeared on Good Morning America this morning and then was interviewed by Barbara Walters on The View.  In fact, he skipped his impeachment trial to appear on the show.  Wow!  He said he made that decision because he felt his trial was unfair and that he was taking it to the public.  Barbara asked him about the reports that he has compared himself to Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Ghandi (he said it was taken out of context).  WOW!
