Dr. Joplin “discovered” that the reason Starr’s baby “died” was because of Starr’s blood not matching with Cole’s. I’m not going to pretend I know medical jargon but it involves immune system, both the mother and the daughter. It’s a rare occurrence for the baby to die if caught early on because a blood transfusion could’ve easily saved the baby’s life. It’s highly unusual that a Doctor misses it on the first check up but apparently Dr. Joplin missed it. As Dorian pointed out yesterday because Dr. Joplin hasn’t already beat herself up for missing it, that a 1st year resident could’ve easily caught it.
To add to these confusing and “mysterious” storyline, Dr. Joplin just shot herself in the head. Yup, she felt so terrible for missing a simple diagnosis that she put a gun to her head and shot herself. Literally like 20 minutes ago. Nora found her bleeding at her table. Todd is about to escape the hospital because his bodyguard heard the shots and stupid as he is, he just left Todd all to himself.
Here’s something odd, to me at least. When Viki was told be Starr what “kill” Hope, wouldn’t Viki have picked up on it immediately, since apparently Nash & Jess have opposite Rh factors and it would have affected the second baby. If I was in a situation like that and had a good relationship with my mother, ala Viki & Jess, my mom would be the second person I told (after my husband).
Stephanie, Viki will probably realize it after a while. Right now, everything is a blur.
