This is my last poll for tonight – I promise!!!
I have heard so many people say that Melinda or Lakisha should not have won because they aren’t the right style. I’ve seen the judges make a fuss over the presence of “rockers” like Gina Glocksen, Bo Bice and Constantine Maroulis. I’ve seen contestants like Carrie Underwood and Phil Stacey have their moment to shine on Country Week. This season, there was no hip-hop or R&B week. I have seen Elliott Yamin have to find a way to make it through a Garth Brooks tune but I didn’t see Kellie Pickler having to sing a Mary J. Blige song.
With that said – should the contestants have to sing a generic pop song as their final performance? Last season, Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee got different finale songs. Isn’t that more fair? Take my poll.

For those of you who recorded last night’s show, replay it watching more closely. At the end of the show there are snips of Jordan’s and Blake’s performances. The snips are from ADDITIONAL performances of their songs.

Goober – I am so upset that I erased it! I wish I could go back now. Does anyone have this recorded? The problem is that so many people’s recorders cut out right before the big announcement so the snips are missing!!!

Don’t you realize there is a full dress rehearsal performance with a live audience prior to the show that is televised? That is where the clips come from for the later performance recaps that are shown on tv. So if Jordin didn’t cry during the first show, that’s why no tears on the recap.
