Well here’s an embarrassing story all around! CNN icon Larry King had dropped by Nate n’ Ali’s Deli in Los Angeles and he asked Gwen Stefani for an autograph – thinking she was Christina Aguilera!
I don’t really know how anyone can mix up Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera but the whole thing just screams AWKWARD.
When Gwen arrived at the counter to pick up an order for her family, Larry approached her and very pleasantly told her that his son is a huge fan of her music. Ever gracious, Gwen was pleased to sign an autograph for Larry’s boy. According to The Globe, “Gwen happily signed her name on a napkin promising the TV talker she’d send his boy a photo in the mail. But when she went to hand it over, Larry looked puzzled before finally admitting, ‘I thought you were Christina Aguilera.’”
What a loon. How could he not realize he wasn’t talking to Christina? And after all his years on television, you’d think he could have at least covered better, and just thanked her without telling her he thought she was Christina Aguilera?!
I feel kind of sorry for Larry, but I feel even worse for Gwen. Imagine being in her shoes right then?
I would love so much to hear Christina Aguilera’s reaction to this!
