I was just wondering how this lady who went and took the money out of the safety deposit box was able to drive away in a vehicle that allison had already rented. I mean when the show started allisons car had been in an accident so she rented this vehicle that had just been returned. The bank robbery happened after she had the vehicle. The lady picked up the money after the robbery and allison already had the vehicle at this time. So what’s up?

See, Kona. I told you that Allison wasn’t the one in an accident. And you were ready to give her grief about driving while talking on the phone, lol! Glad to see that the accident that we saw was only a dream and the real one was not as scary. Sad to see the Volvo go, though. I kinda liked that car. It was a little boring, but it just seemed to fit Allison. I was surprised that she decided to let it go, though, especially after she told Joe the story about how her Dad bought it for her for a college graduation gift, and died a few days later, and how mad she was that he bought her a station wagon. I was sure that she’d keep it.

But anyway, she got a sweet new ride. And I was really kidding when I made the comment about her driving a GMC Terrain this week. But I thought it would only be for this episode. Shameless product placement. I never thought Medium would stoop to that. Tsk,tsk.

But this was a good ep. Joe was funny, as usual, and the mystery was good, but I had a feeling the bomb squad guy was in on it as soon as I saw him. Loved the way the car helped Allison solve the crime, though. Kewl!

The story with Ariel and Jamie was sweet too, the way Ariel took her under her wing and became her friend. She’s a good kid.

Loved the music in this ep too. From the Village People to Norman Greenbaum, but what was that first song that was playing, when the guy was testing the bomb in the desert?

Neomi, the lady who helped rob the bank rented the car before Allison. She used it when she rented the safe deposit boxes and then left it at the car rental office. THEN Allison rented it. When they showed her at the bank, it was BEFORE the robbery, not after.

There was a continuity issue with relation to the car. In an episode from a previous season, there is a scene where Joe and Allison are driving in the car together and Alison mentions that the Volvo (I think it was the Volvo) was the first car they had bought together and brought all their babies home in. I guess they forgot that little bit of history.

I never suspected that the guy from the bomb squad was the mastermind behind the bank robbery.

I’m assuming there was supposed to be some significance with the ending and beginning scenes of the episode? If so, I’m not quite sure I understand what it is? The conversation surrounding the spelling of “Onomatopoeia” was identical. Except in the beginning it was Allison’s dream that ended with the girls being killed in the Volvo. At the end and in reality, the girls safely drive off in the new Terrain along with the girl who was involved in an actual accident with the intent of saving her from being killed in a future car accident. There must be some significance here. Could it be that Ariel’s and Allison’s dreams are somewhat linked?

What do you mean about Ariel’s and Allison’s dreams being linked? The part about the girls in the car was Allison’s dream in the beginning. I think that the first dream was Allison dreaming about what was going to happen to the car, mixed with her fear about Ariel driving, and what she was afraid could happen. The end was just them showing how Allison’s dreams often come true, even if they’re not exactly the way she dreams them.

Btw, ratings were down again this week. Medium was again CBS’ lowest rated show of the night, and it even got beat by Law & Order. That’s not good. Especially since they’ve just cut the number of eps for Numbers. I don’t know what’s happened to CBS’ Friday nights all of a sudden, but it’s like the bottom’s falling out. But then the network isn’t promoting Friday nights like the rest of the week, either. If the Friday shows fail, it’s their own fault.

Kinda makes that season opener title seem appropriate, doesn’t it? “Deja Vu All Over Again”- does anybody else feel like we’re back at NBC?

I thought this episode was okay, Joe had some funny lines again.

I liked the part in the car when Allison was listening to the radio and could hear peoples conversations then the music would come back on.

I pretty much guessed the bomb defuser was involved as soon as he told Allison to get as far as away as possible.

The story about Allison’s dad was sad. I could understand Allison’s reasoning for wanting to keep hold of it though, especially if it was last thing her father bought her.

So will the new car continue to let Allison overhear things now that she’s bought it? I mean obviously it’s no longer a rental but the accomplice still used it! I guess it’s only a one episode thing.

As for product placement, I reckon had I not read the post about the spirit of Friday nights and GMC sponsoring that, I would have been none the wiser, since GMC abbreviates to something else more commonly in my world. Whatever keeps Medium on the air, as long as we don’t have so many zooming in moments on the GMC every episode.

Funny Joe again this week, “the buttons on the car door make the windows go up and down.” cracked me up.

Scanlon seems to take note of Allison’s dream, at least at first. Pair him with Devalos and he loses any sense of belief in Allison!

I liked Ariel and Jamie storyline, loved Joe and Allison’s puzzled reaction to Ariel’s assistance that she would not get in a car with Jamie’s mom.

And the Phoenix PD who didn’t tell Allison that no one was hurt in the accident on phone! That’s a bit mean.

Dawn, the song and the bomb guy in the desert is called Black Water by the Doobie Brothers, it took me like three attempts to figure out it was Mississippi they were saying a lot, then I googled it.
