I’m not a big fan of Fox News (sorry) and they had someone provide a commentary about why Oprah Winfrey is a threat to society.
What do you think? Is Oprah dangerous?

How scary was that??these people will do or say anything to hold on to power. Oprah has worked hard to get laws changed that protect children. She has done more than a lot of people, for people. She has helped us take a look at how we treat each other in America. She is a great American.
If anything she is a spiritual person, not a Christian. The average person raised the way she was (“in the church”…I am one) have evolved to a heightened level of spirituality. Is there something wrong, really, with exploring other avenues of truth that lead you to a more authentic existence? Seriously, this guy needs to get a grip. Oprah the most dangerous person in the world…doubt it!
Couldn’t agree more that Oprah is very dangerous. If Oprah is a Christian, as she professes, she has to believe that there is only one avenue of truth, Christ. There is no other way, truth or life except through Christ, period. As a new age spiritual guru Oprah leads millions away from Christ.
Very profitable for Oprah very dangerous for millions.

Perhaps Christ was correct to parallel people to sheep…simpletons without the god-given ability to think for themselves.
I wonder how many people read the Bible for themselves instead of waiting for their pastor to point them to a few passages on Sunday morning, waiting anxiously for the pastor’s POV to later regurgitate as their own revelation. Maturation in the mysteries of god should be the goal, right? People are so terrified by things they don’t understand simply because it goes against what they’ve been taught is “right”. Even Christ spent the bulk of his 3 and a half years of ministry embracing the “heathens” before the “saints” demanded his crucifixion. Get over yourself and show just an ounce of the love and compassion the Savior has shown to ALL people.

The point, Tony, is people hide behind religious traditions as they have been modified and handed down without taking the time to look at it for themselves. Critical thinking is lacking in this country. We are too lazy to look beyond the superficial “facts” that we’re spoon-fed. We are too comfortable in our blissful ignorance.
The point is, Tony, Jesus wasn’t a Christian…neither is God…stop being a sheep and get a mind of your own.
Furthermore, I have watched Oprah since I was 14 years old and I have NEVER hear her say that she is a Christian. People have presumed that she is, but those words have never come out of her mouth. Just because she cites a few scriptures as words that inspire doesn’t make her a christian. As the guy in the video stated, according to the precious Bible, one must confess Jesus as Lord and repent to be a Christian…so over this!
As Eckart pointed out, the Truth doesn’t need to be defended. Oprah is ONLY dangerous to rigid religious dogma such as, “We will tell you what to believe. Don’t you dare question what we say or use your internal compass to discern the truth.” In that sense, Oprah is dangerous to mainstream Christian beliefs. Which is why only the Christians are “labeling” her as dangerous and feel the need to remind other Christians of what they are SUPPOSED to believe.
The only freedom any person has is to decide what laws will bind them. If a person is a Christian than they choose to follow Christianity. Oprah does not follow Christianity and therefore is dangerous to anyone who chooses to do so. She is even more dangerous to people with no set beliefs. They will find no truth with Oprah only platitudes. Eckart is right, the truth needs no defense. What is Eckart’s or Oprah’s truth? With Oprah everything is OK. Oprah seems to believe she is her own salvation, her own God.
Six billion internal compasses will discern six billion truths or we can follow the only absolute truth, Jesus.
