I don’t know what all the hoopla is about. Seriously. I don’t think any amount of money can make a difference in who people vote for. I mean, look at Ross Perot - he’s a billionaire and still, nobody voted for him. John Kerry has a lot of money but he still lost the election. People are talking about the net-worth of Mitt Romney and I’m asking, who cares?
Now tongues are wagging because Oprah Winfrey has thrown some of her money behind presidential candidate, Barack Obama. In response, Oprah has said that it will be her influence, not her money, that makes a difference in the end. She told Larry King, “my money isn’t going to make any difference. My value to him–my support of him is probably worth more than any other check that I could write.”

I agree, what is with the money votes. good point jeanne.
I don’t get what the problem is. If Oprah Winfrey wants to fund Barack, then let her. It’s not a big deal. The checks that Oprah is givng are not voting ballats being forced into the number votes, so leave her alone.
Its about time we all realize that America needs change. I Obama can bring that about so be it..
if it doesn’t matter then why back him with her funding? Advertisements hit TV with his political ads, these certainly cost “mucho dinero” And as I read in other blogs, news etc, this has helped Obama. So funding does matter.
Well I would LOVE to see the uproar if it were Donald Trump funding Clinton. I can see the blogs going nuts already!
I for one, think that Oprah is a pretty smart cookie. It’s HER money she’s spending, (not ours) to help US get a president with a brain, and a viable plan to fix the imminent catastrophe which the Republitards have created, and would certainly perpetuate, with their lamebrain policies. Go Obama!
I think what Oprah has done is fantastic. I heard on the news that two economists proved she got him over a million votes in the primary, and without her he never would have been the nominee. Thanks Oprah for the brilliant new president. You rock!
