She’s not just selling books anymore! Talk show queen, Oprah Winfrey, can also boost an artist’s record sales in a major way. In fact, Oprah is being touted as the second best way to get your album noticed (iPod/iTunes is first) and it’s been proven time and time again. When Leona Lewis made an appearance on Oprah this past March (her American TV debut!) she sang “Bleeding Love” and the single jumped to the top of the Hot 100 chart (Billboard). You might want to argue that Leona’s single was doing well elsewhere in the world but the truth is that she is just the third U.K. solo female artist to accomplish that!
That’s just one example of the power of Oprah! If I was a singer, I’d be begging to get on there!
