Have Oprah Winfrey’s fans grown tired of hearing about presidential candidate, Barack Obama? They are if you believe some of the comments that have been left on Oprah.com.
One posting on her site, Oprah.com, accused the talk diva of being a traitor. Another poster told Winfrey to “stop pushing Obama down our throats.” Another said: “Do you really know Barack Hussein Obama? Scary & something we have to take into consideration!”
“First of all I want to say that I am a HUGE Oprah fan,” one poster wrote. “I love what she stands for. She is a strong woman changing the world. However, I have been extremely disappointed with her recent touring with Barack Obama. It is a manipulation and an abuse of her power and influence on the American culture.
“Let the American people form their own opinion, Oprah.”
I personally think that Oprah, just like any other citizen, has the right to campaign for and support whomever she wants. I don’t feel threatened by her involvement with Barack Obama and I hope that everyone who feels passionately about something should get involved. This is what she feels is the right thing to do. I’m not sure what the furor is about. Well, at least now her boyfriend, Stedman Graham, isn’t the only person who doesn’t like how much time she’s spending with Obama.
I want to hear from you. What do you think of the situation?
I think dancing on stage is going a little too far. Maybe he can dance, but can he lead us in 2009. I really do have my doubts. Let just state facts and quit the nonsense. We’re in a mess and we don’t need all the hipe. Please take it to Irag and dance for them. Lets jusy talk about issuses and leave the other candidate out of it. If you don’t have anything good to say – Just keep your mouth shut and that goes for all of the candidates. People are getting real tired of the same old news running about the campaignes, we don’t even care to watch anymore. Lets really get real! Cause you’re boring he hell out of me. Just state what you want to do for the country and then we all know it can’t all be done without the house and the senate. Do you think we’re all stupid?
I’m sick to death of being force fed Obama. It’s like American Idol for voters and it’s way more important than that.
I don’t get some people’s rationale for choosing their president. My favorite so far was a Seattle teen and Obama fan who said, “He seems like a fun guy.” (Seattle Times). This is why we’re in such a mess. Didn’t Americans use this reasoning the last time?
The reason for Oprah’s popularity was that she delivered her messages in a very equal, all the facts way and let her audiences make up their own minds. NOW, especially in the last two years she has began to TELL us how she thinks and tries to sway our opinion. Her show is not the same as it once was. She has almost become “Tom Cruise like” in her behavior. And the straw that broke the camels back for me was the opening of the all girls school in Africa instead of the area where she grew up. Let’s help the poor young girls in the USA first!!!
As mayor of an all white rural village it was long coming for me to realize that Obama is what this country needs. Why shouldn’t Oprah stand behind Obama, other celebrities speak about their choice. People do listen to Oprah’s views and they are swayed by her beliefs. People listen because she smart and relays facts not fiction. She is standing behind a smart man that just happens to be black. Obama has promised to turn the country around and I believe he will if given the chance.
Oprah can choose whoever the heck she wants. However, she should not be endorsing one candidate and then refuse to have the other on her show for Q & A. She is a hypocrite in that respect and by promoting this candidate for reasons that have nothing to do with presidential credentials actually tarnishes her popularity with her viewers. So, she can do what she pleases, but it will cost her in some shape or fashion.
what do you care. you talk about marriges that have gone bad. i love my wife, she will not leave this home, and i sit here all alone. our marrige is gome to hell. she has a problem with panic attacks, a real big one, can you help. she is that bad that i need your help
