Top Chef’s host and woman about town Padma Lakshmi is allegedly carrying a baby that probably already has an extremely well-defined palate. I picked up the rumor from Just Jared this morning, but it’s been taken down. Luckily, we have other news hungry bloggers at Ace Showbiz who picked up the story. The problem is it comes from a bunch of “unnamed sources,” so who knows if any of this is true.
If it is true, this would be her first child. Her boyfriend is Manu Nathan (he’s pictured left here with Padma); his LinkedIn profile lists his occupation as an attorney at talent agency IMG. Worth noting is that he’s 27 to Padma’s 39, which is in sharp contrast to her last big relationship with author Salmon Rushdie, who was roughly twice her age. I love older ladies getting with younger dudes, so I salute Padma!

It’s on the official Bravo web site, so I guess the rumors are true. Maybe she’ll love motherhood so much that she’ll retire from Top Chef!
I would love a top chef challenge where the chefs had to make whatever padma is craving. A fried pickle challenge!
