Over the next few weeks I want to highlight the audition tapes for our remaining contestants. Remind us of where they’ve come from and where they’ve come to. For some, like today’s contestant, the process has obviously been tough. Through challenges, hard weeks, commercial appearances and lack of sleep they’ve lost a little bit of the spark that “gives you tingles”.

Paula had goose bumps, and so did I. The girl can sing, the girl can jazz, the girl can just flat out make you smile with her voice. Sadly, we haven’t seen that much lately, as she’s been struggling to fit in. My hope is that she can find her stride again. She’s a real, real treasure.

her auditions were a lot different than her actual performances on the show… I don’t know what it was. I guess the songs she chose to sing, but if each performance was like this – she would’ve won.
