Maxim has a retrospective article that has Patricia Arquette and other actors and crew talking about what the making of True Romance was like. If you visit the link to read the article, be ready for some pretty rough language. If this interview was on t.v., the guys’ quotes would just be one big bleep, bleep, bleep noise!Anyway, Patricia Arquette talks about how she managed to portray Alabama so well – Tony Scott hauled off and slapped her. Apparently, he did this a lot, because she named his right hand The Persuader. Sounds like she earned every cent she made on this role and then some!
I suspect that this dedication to her role is why she got sick last year while filming Medium. I think the break for the writer’s strike was really good for her, even if we missed seeing new episodes for a bit, because she got to recharge her batteries before finishing up the season.

I read that article, Katelyn. It was interesting, wasn’t it? You’re right about the guys language. Wow! Lol!
I had heard that Tony Scott slapped her once to help her get into a scene, but I didn’t know that it had happened that often. That’s an interesting way to get ready for a scene, and shows true dedication to your craft. “The Persuader”, indeed! Lol!!
She has often said that she “absorbs” a lot of whatever she’s doing, and that’s probably why she got so sick last season. I’m sure she enjoyed the break given by the writers’ strike, and it probably gave her a much needed chance to recharge her batteries. That was one of the only good things about the strike.
Now let’s just hope we don’t have another one.
