Patrick Dempsey Participates in Handbags of Hope

Made of Honor - Rome Premiere

Janet Rigdon and the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation are sponsoring the second annual Handbags of Hope campaign, which will feature an evening of fun, yummy edibles, and 107 decorated handbags, donated by celebrities to be auctioned off for the cause.

All handbags will begin at the price of $35 via the silent auction. Last year’s event managed to raise $15,000, so this year they’re aiming for more.

Available in the bunch, are handbags signed by twenty different celebrities, including none other than Patrick Dempsey.

All proceeds go to benefit the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation and its mission to educate and support women as well as furthering cancer research.

The event will be held on August 21st from 6-8:30pm. For more information, visit http://www.scovariancancer.org/

What a wonderful thing it is when people loan their “fame status” for a cause such as this. It takes so very little effort on their part..(in this case a signature). Pablo Picasso scribbled a little drawing once for a group of school children and it auctioned off for over $20,000. What a privilege.
