Petite Patricia

I must have known that Patricia Arquette wasn’t very tall, but I didn’t realize she was this petite – According to Shorty Stories, she is a tiny 5′1″ tall. I was surprised to see that many movie and tv stars who have won awards are definitely on the short side. I guess if you are tall, you gravitate towards modeling.

She IS a teeny little thing. It felt odd to look down at her when I met her in person (squee!) I am 5′3″. I do not often have the opportunity to look down at people unless they happen to be standing holding the hand of their parent.

Hey Sheila! How’s it going? I see, just come back to rub it in that you got to meet Patricia Arquette in person. Ha!

I think a lot stars and men lie about their height, too. I’ve gone out with a guy who claimed to be 5′8″ tall and was shorter than me and I’m 5′7″ and wasn’t wearing heels.

I was listening to Jeff Goldblum once who at 6′4″ is considered freakishly tall by Hollywood standards, and he said Hollywood is full of little bitty people. I have a son who is also 6′4″ tall and I don’t consider him to be freakishly tall, just tall. There were stories in the old days of someone like Alan Ladd, apparently vertically challenged, who used to stand on a box next to some of his costars!

Actually, in interviews, Patricia says that she is 5′2″, which isn’t surprising. When you’re short, you need every inch you can get. I know, because I’m 5′2 myself, and I am often tempted to add an inch or two. But perhaps that is why people always comment when she starts to look like she’s gaining a little weight. When someone is small like that, it is much more noticeable when they gain a pound or two. But I still think she is an ideal shape and weight. Perfectly proportioned and just the right size to look beautiful without looking too thin or too plump.
I wish I were closer to that size.

Yea, short people! I’m 4′11″ & don’t mind being short at all. I used to say I was five feet because I thought it sounded better, but I’m over it. Short people unite!

That bugs me too, when people diss Patricia’s size–She’s fine just the way she is.

Showing love for the short folks. I’m 5′9 and love being tall… now. I hated it when I was young. I got a lot of unsolicited attention back then. My dad is Jake’s recorded height, 6′4. Honestly folks, I believe Jake is tall but next to Patricia now knowing she’s 5′1; Jake must be my height. What do ya’ll think?
