Angelina Jolie has been busy since arriving in Iraq. She’s been in long meetings to discuss the plight of Iraqi refugees who have been displaced both within their own country and abroad, and is pushing for more international aid to help them during this crisis. In between meetings, she also boosted morale by visiting with some of the American troops in the Green Zone, eating lunch with them.
There are several great photos of Angelina in her meetings, with the troops, and walking in the Green Zone in a protective helmet. She is so consistently brave when it comes time to stand up for people who need help; not everyone would head into Baghdad like that. I’m so glad that she’s passionate about important global issues instead of just worrying about partying like half of Hollywood.
More photos below the cut.

Personally, I find that Angelina has her priorities mixed up. She is pressing for all this aid and traveling everywhere but who is taking care of her kids? It is not emotionally healthy for them to be absent as much as she is. Additionally, she should not be allowed to adopt anymore until she her current children healthy and a bit older. She cannot possibly be giving them, esp the adopted ones with issues, the attention they so desperately need at this time. I personally believe there are so many issues here, in the USA, where she lives, that she can give her time to until the kids are a bit older. She can also lobby for international interests from here, she does not HAVE to travel. I just don’t think she is all that wonderful and she is neglecting her kids.

Most of you guys have lots of nice things to say about Ange, she is such a good example to others. I really admire her & she is an advocate for refugees flight in Iraq & in other war torn countries, she leaves her glamorous life & comfort of home to be in Iraq & assure the refugees that they are not forgotten. I was also wondering, if she is not pregnant how come she never denied the rumor, maybe she is pregnant after all. Time will tell. For now, let’s respect their privacy. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

I so admie her, and think its great that while she is there to highlight the devestation of war she still stops to have lunch with a young marine. It shows you can be anti war but still tell those young men and women,(just with her presence)
that she understands its not their fault.

what I am reading from some of you all commends are good and you seem very concern but my point I am going to make is that most of you are selfish which is not the way Angelina Jolie thinks. I read somewhere that if you are not willing to die for something you are not passionate about it, anyway words to that effect. all I hear is selfish americans talking, who said she is even pregnant you are drawing conclusion without any facts

Saw pictures of Angie back in LA. Hope she and Brad and the kids are enjoying their family reunion. Brad must be so proud, as Angie is of him. Love the Jolie Pitts.

Karen – I sort of see that as a sexist point of view. No one blinks if a man travels on occasion for work. That’s “normal” but everyone makes a big deal of it when it’s the mother.
Also, I’m not sure why you think she’s away a lot – if she’s filming, her family comes with her so that they’re still together at the end of the day. Her trips for the UN are never for a long period, only a matter of days.
It’s not 1950 anymore – a lot of women travel for work, it doesn’t mean they neglect their children.

Thanks for the update. I traveled to the Middle East, Island, next to Saudi Arabia, (Bahrain), and almost married a Prince, Michael Bulucchi, whom I met in the states. I loved it there and did not want to leave at the time. On my venture, following my Fathers’s footsteps, 24 yrs., Army support, and in Iran, past wars etc., my Mom like Angie, beautiful, smart, strong, very involved, so amazing! It’s tuff! I’d love to put the picture of my Mom and Elivis Presley on the blog, when per picture was taken with him, in his service days. In my eyes, Angie’s Mother was her Guardian Angel and a Saint given to our world. I feel so grateful to watch Brad and Angie’s Family grow. Their children will honor them so much as parents, as we all do ours. Damm, they are so IT!
I feel like I know them and Love them Both.

I strongly agree with Sherry. People should check their sexism. It’s not the 1950s anymore – we even have women soldiers, pilots, etc. Some of these women have kids they left at home because their orders said so.
Karen, being judgmental goes along with being sexist. Who said you could decide how other people live their lives. It’s so presumptuous to say that Angelina should/should not be allowed to adopt anymore – you’re acting as if you’re God.
I’ve seen Angelina in a kevlar vest before – except it was U.N. blue – when she was checking landmines. The kevlar vest & helmet don’t prove or disprove her pregnancy. Everyone in Baghdad – soldiers, journalists, western workers – wear the vests & helmets for protection. Everyone but the Iraqis, that is – who’re forced to go without protection. The vests are very heavy – tens of pounds. The idea is that the essential central body organs are protected by the vest, and the head by the helmet. These are the areas where a wound could be fatal.

[...] was probably to be expected, shortly after Angelina Jolie went on her trip to visit Iraq, stories began popping up in the tabloids – print and online – saying that it was a shameless photo [...]
