Suri Fan….if katie put on weight and grew her hair she would look the same as she did years ago. different hairstyles and a bit of weight loss makes a person look different……….plastic surgery, honestly! katie also attends functions that she needs to be dressed up. when you don’t like somebody you pick at every silly thing imaginable, just to say somehing against them. hope his bank account doubles, katie gets to wear more designer clothes ,suri goes everywhere with her mum and dad , bella and connor do their own thing, and some of you lot here willstop your continual whinging about them.

Tyler, I’m with you on this. If you see pictures of Katie BEFORE she hooked up with Cruise, the quality of her clothes was not haute coulture or even very expensive. Clearly, she was an actress with a limited budget. She does not come from humble beginnings but her parents are not millionaires. Her father is a lawyer and he became one after he got married and had five kids. AFTER she became Cruise’ partner you so her wearing designer clothes like Armani, Lavin,
etc. She also fixed her nose and had other type of plastic surgery. Why? In Hollywood you have to look as perfect and beautiful as possible because its an image and talent business. That is why people are so obssessed with looking fit, young, beautiful.

Tia, obviously no one’s losing sleep or they’d be posting at 2 in the morning
She is seen in the media all the time and she never has new wardrobe. The handbags alone cost a mint. Maybe it’s small potatoes for TC’s budget, but to insinuate that she buys a few things is laughable. She’s clearly a shopaholic. She has modeled herself after Posh who’s not taken seriously. On the bright side, I guess you could say they stimulate the economy:)

Please tell me this isn’t a big issue…and keeping people up at night.

I think people do exaggerate Katie’s shopping.

She shops a few things for herself hubby and the kids…..by the looks of things she like to go shopping herself and not send someone else. When you say every other day, that is not really true, is it? Unless the paps have stopped taking pics of her. Besides even celebs who don’t have that much money are seen shopping more times than Katie. Also don’t forget celebs do gets free dresses/stuff for award shows.

Mary, if Katie had to spend her money, the well would have run dry long ago. Her parents are well off, but hardly the kind of wealthy where you drop thousands of dollars each time you buy an outfit, which in her case is every other day. She owned a 200K home in NC. Nice, but hardly wealthy.

Tyler Katie also has her own money, granted not as much as TC but she has money of her own.
Remember as well that Katie owned a home when she lived in NC filming DC. She lived in that home while filming DC.
She also purchased an apartment in NY before meeting and marrying TC.
This is a woman who knows sound financial advice and if you’ve seen the home she grew up in, she isn’t unfamiliar with what being wealthy is.

Tia, you’re right, no one here is disputing that he has enough money for many lifetimes, just not at the level you claim. And Katie is spending spending spending it as he sleeps:) Katie just doesn’t fit the bill here because he TC always had a reputation of being very careful with this money. Guess you have to change your business model when you marry a young trophy wife who’s hung up on you as a movie star and the financial freedom that implies.
I read in one of his interviews that he used to write out the paychecks in one of this movie sets because he keeps tight control over his finances.

Tom Cruise Divorce Move Could Cost Nicole Plenty

Those who wonder what caused Tom Cruise to file for divorce so swiftly, at last here is an answer.

Under California divorce law, a couple married less than 10 years is not considered to have been in a “long term marriage.” Cruise filed his papers on February 7, citing the length of his marriage to Nicole Kidman at exactly nine years and 11 months. The Cruises were married on December 24, 1990; Cruise claims the couple separated in “December 2000.”

This would refute claims made in other publications that the Cruises renewed their wedding vows on Christmas Eve.

Donna Weaver, an expert family attorney in Hollywood, explained to me: “This gives a presumption that spousal support should not be considered.” In other words, Cruise is asking the court not to force him to pay alimony to Kidman. If he’d hesitated much longer, Kidman would have had a much stronger case to cash in on their ten years together a possible $300 million net worth.

On his divorce filing, Cruise also checked off box marked 7g, which indicates that he wants the court to enjoin Kidman from receiving alimony. He also checked off two boxes regarding custody of the couple’s children Isabelle and Conor indicating his desire to have a strong participation in their lives. “He wants more than visitation,” Weaver said.
