Actors Kevin Kline, Katie Holmes, Paul Dano and John C. Reilly attend the ‘The Extra Man’ premiere during the 2010 Sundance at Eccles Center Theatre on January 25, 2010 in Park City, Utah.

You can see an exclusive clip of The Extra Man here. Katie arrived at the film festival on Monday (January 25th) and from what I have read, her arrival was one of the most highly anticipated. She was met with a frenzy of people and flashbulbs according to People. I can only imagine!
Katie is attending the festival in support of two of her films that are premiering: The Extra Man and The Romantics.
Before the premiere of The Extra Man last night, Katie had dinner with some friends at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. An onlooker said “She sat a real great table in the middle of the restaurant. A lot of people knew who she was but no one really approached her. She seemed really comfortable and really calm – really seemed content”.
They continued saying, “She got up and walked around the restaurant by herself, no security or anything. The table shared a bottle of red wine. When she left they went out to the car they had waiting.”
I bet she is having the time of her life! Premiering two movies at Sundance is amazing. I can’t wait to see both of them.

Not good for Katie
review of “The Extra Man”-
Easily the weakest part of this film is Katie Holmes. She strides through the scenes looking more gaunt than gorgeous, and doesn’t seem to understand her characters role in the film. She applies the same amount of affectation to her character as the other actors, even though she is meant to play the closest thing to a normal person in the film. She is meant to be the straight-man, but ends up coming off as childish. She delivers her lines with a bizarre, wide-eyed quality that seems to suggest she was learning them up until the directors yelled “Action!” Luckily, Mr. Dano has the presence to mask this and keep the scenes moving along.

why does she always seem to stand with her legs bowed inward…..is she pigeon-toed?
She just doesn’t seem to be into it.
One of the critics made a similar statement about Katie and the fact that she doesn’t seem to take her profession seriously. Ever since she married Cruise, it would appear she has acted on impulse. She wants to act, sing , dance, etc., but we’re not all cut out to do all of those things. If she wants others to take her seriously, she needs to act like it.
Jenna, I’m surprised you would repeat anything from that site, all they do is hate.
I like that above outfit.
I am aware that this is not a regular fan site and I get that there might be positive that criticism is allowed. It is just that it seems that most lurkers are NOT fans. There have been GREAT reviews on her performance in The Romantics. Really really good ones by different sources and there’s none of that in this site. Why only focus on the negative? KAtie did also an amazing job in All my Sons and The Romantics seems to be even better than her good old days in acting. I brought one fantastic review at a recent topic.
KH is one of the producers of “The Romantics” – go to Sundance website and check out the stats on all the films that were showcased. The site lists the credits for all actors, directors, producers. Regarding her outfit – nothing spectacular, but it’s fitting for the area and the cold weather. I do like her boots, and noticed it looks like she’s wearing the earrings from her wedding day.
