Picnics always sound so great in theory but every time I’ve ever tried one (especially with three kids), it ends up being a disaster. I might give it another shot, however, after watching a segment on the Today show. Here are their tips for planning the perfect picnic!
- Have a good basket. They suggest the African Hand-Woven River Grass Basket from Priscilla Woolworth for just $30. All of the proceeds go to the communities who created these beautiful baskets!
- Sit on a Turkish cotton striped bath sheet from Shop Distant LA for just $39.99
- Store your wine in a PlatyPreserve bag ($12) from REI.com so that you don’t have to lug those heavy bottles. Apparently they preserve wine better than recorked bottles!
- Pick up some Paper + Cup wooden utensils ($7.95). They are lighter and more fun that your silverware (and you don’t want to risk losing your good stuff anyway!) and better for the environment than plastic!
- Pack a honeycomb ($24 from Savannah Bee) so that you can smear it on bread, fruit and/or cheese.
- Take some Crumb Daddies ($8) for dessert which is similar to the top of a crumb cake! Yum! Order it from Milton Point Sweets.
