Since you begged, I would feel bad if I didn’t let you in on my reasoning, even though it is not really that interesting. I said I would come back to spend time with a favorite family member. I would miss and still feel my love for them so much that I would find it impossible to leave their side for that long. I would want to help them and somehow comfort them with my presence. I wouldn’t be able to stay away. Not that interesting, but that’s my answer.
I too would love to “visit” love ones. But I especially would check out a guy that I fell in love with when I was in high school. We met on a school field trip to DC in ‘81. He was from Rhode Island. I thought he was so smart and beautiful, and he was. After the trip we kept in touch for a while through letters and occassional phone calls. He was my biggest regret, although I believe God had a reason for us never being together. I always think about him, and I would want to “see” him.
