I have been waiting for this episode all season– really, since I first heard about it late in the summer. It’s the one that we’ve all been waiting for: The Night of the Living Dead episode. Since NBC always bounced Medium around the schedule, unless I’m mistaken, I believe this is their first actual Halloween episode. Regardless, they’re definitely going all out.

In addition to just the general awesomeness of this concept, I’m really excited about this week’s guest stars. First, the Mistress of the Dark, Elvira, is guest-starring as herself. I’m not really sure how that’s going to work out, since Elvira became famous a couple decades after Night of the Living Dead. So maybe she’s in the DuBois’ actual world instead of Allison’s dream world. Also guest-starring is Aida Turturro, who played Janice Soprano on The Sopranos. She’s a great actress, and she’s playing the daughter of the missing funeral director, so it looks as though she’ll be playing heavily into the mystery of the week.
The Cast To Be Inserted into Scenes from George Romero’s Horror Classic “Night of the Living Dead” Throughout the Episode
Special Guest Stars Include Horror Icon Elvira as Herself and Aida Turturro
(“The Sopranos”) As Bobbi Catalano, Daughter of Missing Funeral Director Carl Catalano
“Bite Me” – Allison has vivid nightmares that insert her into scenes from the classic horror film “Night of the Living Dead,” which leave her with unexplained cuts and bite marks and possible clues that could lead her to a funeral director’s murderer, on a special Halloween episode of MEDIUM, Friday, Oct. 30 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This is the one I have been looking forward to also!
Maybe Elvira will be hosting a TV show that airs the movie, like she used to. I can’t remember the name of it though.
Oh, DJ. I bet you’re right. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that, but that’s probably why Elvira is there.
I can’t wait for this episode. It’s going to be an amazing halloween special, MEDIUM style. I bet Patricia’s pefromance will be spectacular.!
I actually had no idea who Elvira is! I’ve never been a ‘horror’ film girl, too much of a wimp. I’m easily creeped out.
I am going to watch the original film this week some time, even if it requires me to hide behind a pillow most of the time.
But I am excited for this episode. It’s nice to have a themed-episode.
I think you’re right, Kona. This is the first real Halloween episode that Medium has ever done. They’ve done some “event” episodes, but nothing like this, unless you count the Valentine’s Day episode (which was the awesomest Medium ep ever) and I bet this one is gonna be as good as that, if not better. I’m so psyched for this I can hardly wait until Friday. I’ve also got the original movie and plan to watch it this week before the show airs. Even if I had to do it with my head under a pillow, lol!
Btw, I read something today that makes me a little sad. It seems that the incredible Diane Ademu-John, who is my favorite of all the Medium writers, is writing a pilot for NBC called “Nola Rising”. It’s a detective with ghosts set in NO,LA. Sounds interesting, but it makes me sad to think that she might be leaving Medium. I love all of the episodes that she writes. If she leaves, that will be the third of the greatest writers the show has ever had that has left. They also lost the wonderful Javier Grillo- Marxuach and Rene Echevarria due to the writers’ strike. Darnit! That’s not to say that Glenn Caron and the rest of the writers aren’t great. I love their work too, but Diane Ademu-John’s work has always struck a chord with me for some reason. She’s fantastic and I hope that she’s going to stick around with Medium for a while. But if not, then good luck to her.
Can’t wait for this ep this week. Btw, CBS has a new preview up at the Medium home page and it looks even better than the one we saw last week. Check it out.
