Private Practice Scoop: Violet's Backstory

"Downloading Nancy" 2008 Sundance Portrait Shoot

TV Guide has the scoop on what’s on the way for Amy Brenneman’s character on the second season of Private Practice. According to the actress, Violet’s history will be revealed, which aside from the “hopping in and out of bed” also involves “some real stuff.” Brenneman told TV Guide that the character has had “a little sexual damage in the past” and that “trusting and getting out there” will be the character’s main difficulty in her quest toward happiness.

But it doesn’t sound like Violet’s love life will heat up right from the beginning. The start of season two will see Violet feeling “quite alone,” and it isn’t until episode nine that she’ll begin to move past whatever issues she may have.

Regarding the rest of the Private Practice world, TV Guide reveals that the practice will be hitting some monetary troubles and will be faced with some difficult ethical issues.

I’m really looking forward to Private Practice season two. It sounds like they’ve put a lot of thought into making the show more interesting. Let’s hope it turns out that way. What are you hoping for next season?

Tune in to the season two premiere on October 1.
