Two new fall shows have already changed their names, and honestly, I just don’t understand why they would do it at this stage.
The CBS comedy Project Gary starring Jay Mohr is now named Gary Unmarried, and the CW’s fall drama Surviving the Filthy Rich is now named Privileged, according to Comedy Centric.
I can see why they made the name change for Project Gary I guess, as Mohr plays a divorced father, but still, were they afraid Project Gary sounded like a science project? And Surviving the Filthy Rich’s name change? I don’t see that the word "privileged" as being any better (plus I hate spelling that word!), but who am I to make decisions?
Please, networks, we are too close to the fall season … wait, there’s another that’s considering a name change … Fox hasn’t made up their minds on their working title of the new fall animated series Sit Down Shut Up about unconventional teachers and staff. I wonder if they will change the name as well?
