Rachael Ray Finally Had Vocal Chord Surgery

After postponing it to try a new alternative therapy, talk show host, Rachael Ray, has had surgery on her vocal chords.

34th Annual AWRT Gracies Awards Her rep told People:  "After several months of vocal therapy and on the advice of her doctors, Rachael decided to have a benign cyst removed from her vocal cord.  According to Rachael’s doctors the minor, non-invasive procedure was a success and she is already resting at home… the hardest part for Rachael is going to be giving her voice a rest for the next week or so.”

I can’t imagine Rachael Ray without her mouth running non-stop.  She must be in agony right now.  I wonder if it will change the sound of her voice.  I’ve noticed in the past year that it’s gotten more raspy and rough sounding so I am curious to see if that changes.

I’m guessing she has to use a pad and pen to communicate with her husband John.  It’s a good thing that cooking and eating delicious food doesn’t require the ability to speak.

I’m glad she’s had the surgery, though, so that she can just put this issue behind her.  Have a speedy recover, Rachael!
