I guess the promo with Allison macing that lady got everyone else as excited for this episode as it got us, because Medium’s numbers were up this week. In fact, it edged out Ghost Whisperer for the top spot of the night in 18-49. Medium’s 100th episode scored 8.43 million viewers with a 2.2 in the 18-49 group, barely beating Ghost Whisperer’s 2.1 in the group, but falling a bit short of its 8.46 million total viewers.

Of course, Medium isn’t competing against Ghost Whisperer, so let’s look at the other shows in its timeslot: Medium’s 9:00 win was by a wide margin, as usual, with second-place Dateline only getting 7.91/1.8. What does disappoint me though, in terms of being a television fan, is that Ugly Betty (4.55/1.2) and Dollhouse (2.15/.8) were such a distant 3rd and 4th.
I fully admit that I have watched more episodes of Dateline than Dollhouse, but my allegiance is with scripted television. Besides, Dollhouse is unlike anything else on TV, and I love having a wide variety of programming available. Plus, I’ve been a fan of Ugly Betty from the beginning, and I would really love to see it do better, so I find Dateline’s consistent second place kind of disheartening.
It makes me worry that more networks are going to gravitate toward cheaper newsmagazine and talk shows instead of the more expensive and time-consuming scripted dramas and comedies. Of course, Jay Leno’s consistant last place in his timeslot (6.15/1.4) is helping me hold out hope that that won’t become a reality any time soon.

That’s good about medium winning the ratings for Friday so that means we could get another season. I have watched Dateline in the past and it is usually good. I have never watched Ugly Betty (it looks stupid from the promos). I never heard of Dollhouse so I wouldn’t watch that either. So if medium was not on fridays I would be watching Dateline or nothing.
This past Medium was excellent and since it had higher ratings than previous weeks maybe they will come back. Next week looks good too from the promo.
I’m glad Medium won the ratings again. I hope it continues in the same vein.
I loved season 1 of Ugly Betty, watched season two a week behind the us air date (so rare for non-paying television but it was really popular), then the writers strike happened and I never caught up when it resumed.
I can’t really complain about the decisions of TV companies since I’m spending my Sunday night at home to watch the results of a music reality show, exactly the type of show I should be avoiding if I want more dramas.
Im so proud of Medium And that ratings is a good way to celebrate the 100th episode..i hope CBS soon aproved the 7 season.
I watched the first season of dollhouse and watch the first episode of the second season and is a good tv show is diferent but i have to let go the series to watch Medium, but the ratings are very sad i feel bad for them because the series have potencial..
I can’t freaking wait for the Halloween Episode ( Night of the living dead my favorite Zombie movie!!!!) i declined to go a halloween Party to watch this episode..!!! AND this episode was very very good i like when allison become crazy and get arrested hahaha
Medium has won the 9 o’clock spot so far every week. I think season 7 is a safe bet. Goodbye to the friday night death trap at 9 and hello to season 7 of Medium!!!
I’m glad Medium is doing well and most weeks it has actually had higher ratings than GW. I thought Ugly Betty was going to be on at 7 instead of 8. I think it would do better at 7. Supernanny or Wife Swap are not much for lead ins.
I enjoy Reality shows that have to do with talent like DWTS and SYTYCD. I stopped watching AI after the 2nd season when Ruben was chosen as the winner over Clay Aiken – Clay proved he had true talent and far more staying power than Ruben who? As far as I’m concerned, we have too many news programs and freely give away far too much information that should remain secret for national safety concerns. I think Supernanny is a show that has its worth, but would be better suited to TLC instead of network TV. Same with Biggest Loser. Survivor and Amazing Race are just too hokey for me and anything that exists to humiliate people doesn’t need to be on TV. Game shows should involve some skill, but mostly be fun and allow the opportunity for average folks to win some cash and prizes- but they shouldn’t be about GREED. That’s what got so many companies in trouble and so many families into houses they couldn’t afford in the first place.
I used to try and watch Ugly Betty, but it gets pretty stupid. It’s a different show which is nice, but so was Pushing Daisies which I just LOVED and it got canceled. I think they should have given PD another season to grow. If there isn’t anything else going on, I’ll watch Ugly Betty, but I don’t like it enough to tape it. Since it’s up against Medium, well Medium wins.
Maria Lark did a great job in this episode! I wanted to give her a hug.
