It’s a broken record at this point: another housewife is watching her home go into foreclosure. This time, it’s Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Guidice, who last season famously told the world she didn’t want to live in a house lived in by some one else because that’s just so icky.
Media Take Out, who gleefully points out that “this time” it’s one of the “white housewives” has some of the deets, backed up by Radar, who posted the full filing of the foreclosure papers. My question is, the amount owed is $127, 500. Considering what we saw of their gigantic mansion last season, doesn’t that seem downright low? What do you think of this new foreclosed on housewife?
Edit: Several reports have surfaced today that the foreclosure was not on Teresa’s darling French chateau, but on another piece of land owned by Teresa. The klassy marble house we saw on season 1 of Real Housewives of New Jersey reportedly has a mortgage of 1.72 million on it, which a commenter just claimed was 50 years long. DANG.

Hold up… she spend more than that on furniture last season. What happen to the money Bravo pay to these women. Get a financial planner…quick. Look at Lisa and Ed on Atlanta, they downgrading back to a smaller house.

I say it’s a foreclosure on that cute lit-ul gazebo where her and her best bubbie paisan, Dina, tossed back the chianti. It’s a good quarter-mile from the main house. They had to walk there in their fuckin heels, for Chrissakes.
Anyhow, that’s the lowdown. Nothin else to see here. Move along….

It looks like it was the land purchase, from back in 2005. It’s also an ARM – so I’m sure there payments have skyrocketed since they took out the loan. I admit I’m a bit intrigued as to why they had to take out a 30 year, $125K loan. Isn’t that the same amount of money Teresa dropped on furniture – in cash?????

Hey Jend, Bravo can’t pay what the major networks can, so don’t be surpised if these women make less than six figures each. You’re right about getting a financial planner though!

Teresa admitted on her blog or somewhere that the cash she used to pay for the furniture was all contrived for the show. She said that she does not carry around that much cash and that the producers wanted her to do that!
I read on some blog that people in her area say that they are NOT as wealthy as the show makes them appear.

Maybe she should return her couches and then call it even?

She is definitely not the first white housewife to be foreclose on, Tamra was…..can’t remember if Jeana was too.
I am not surprised by Teresa, she and her husband seemed like morons so I always doubted that they could manage money or that they even had it legitimately.
Guess she better get a job waiting tables rather than flipping them, lol.

maybe her daughter’s acting and modeling career will help pay the bills lol

It is not the marble palace..it is another property they own. The mortgage on the palace is a 50 year mortgage!!!!!

Maybe they let it foreclose on purpose. That’s a trend, at least here in the West, when you are “upside down” .. where you owe more than your house is worth. People can still afford to pay the mortgage, they just choose not to. They can live in the house, payment-free, for an average of nine months before they get foreclosed on, saving that cash.
I don’t know details of the advantages or whatnot of this practice, but it’s happening a lot around these parts.

Teresa house is not being foreclosed. This is all about a piece of land she owns in another town.

She owes her fertility clinic, numerous people who did work on her house and now this property. I think it won’t be long before they will be foreclosing on this house.
If she can’t afford these other things then surely the house will be next. They are definitely a strange family.

I do like that little Gia. I can see her going to work to save the family from the homeless shelter. And teaching her little sisters the biz. She could be bigger than Miley Cyrus.

Did anyone else see Kelly and Regis re-acting the table flip on the Halloween episode? It was great

[...] Earlier this year, it was revealed that one of Joe’s properties (not the “French chateau” dream home seen on the show) had gone into foreclosure. [...]

It was obvious that any money she may have had was not legitimate. She should get a job, and her husband should learn to make a legitimate salary. Then, they should live within their financial means.

I don’t know if Tamra’s foreclosure is done yet. Last I heard the house was up for short sale, which –correct me if I am wrong as I only live in overpriced cities and am not a home owner — is the last step before foreclosure, but not the real deal. I haven’t heard anything about her house. it looks like Simon may have found a real job again, according to Tamra’s Twitter so maybe they are staying put in Ladera or were able to buy more time. Jeana also did not get foreclosed on, she came close but got loan modifications on her homes. The NYC housewives appear to be the most financially stable!

Thanks, Jersey Girl :) I added an update that it isn’t her new house that has the foreclosure.
