My loving fellow Bravo fans, I have been remiss in my coverage of Real Housewives of New York City. The Orange County girls have kept me so busy, that I’ve neglected my East Coast women. I’m happy to report I’m out of Gretchen’s haze of spray tan and Tamra’s stare and am now fully in the embrace of the fabulous Hamptons.
Let’s go over the season so far:

1. The Countess: Her pretension with her title makes for reality show gold. Giving her title to the pizza place over the phone? Of course, darling. How else are they going to know to arrange the pizza in a royal fashion? Best moments so far: watching her her load a dishwasher. And her telling everyone to shut up at the cancer benefit, then going back and talking through the rest of the presentation. Manners! Or, in the last episode when she threw the good bye lunch for her daughter Victoria and her friends before shipping her off to boarding school, turning it into an informercial for her new book. Don’t forget to eat something so people won’t think you’re anorexic, ladies!

2. Ramona: Subdued for the first few episodes, the real Ramona came out in this last episode when she didn’t want Alex involved in Jill’s new charity venture, which she initially didn’t want to participate in, even though her daughter is also an arthritis sufferer (huh?). Best moments: (1) finding out about her former career as fake bodybuilder model/dating expert for Cosmo, (2) asking Governer Paterson of New York if he was “like, blind” and then saying on her Bravo blog that he was flirting with her. Right. But my question is: where’s Avery? I miss her.

3. Silex: I hope Simon is getting paid as much as the ladies, because as far as I’m concerned they can get rid of new housewife Kelly and put him in the opening credits. I understand Simon and Alex a little more now: they’re two brainy eggheads who found each other but even though I’m sure they like their books and their playlists and their living in Brooklyn, they still want to run with the cool kids and run in higher circles. Best moment: all the posing they did on the beach and Alex saying that Jill Zarin is jealous of her and should write “I’m good enough” on lipstick in the mirror. Speaking of, Simon was totally dissing Jill when he made the comment that you can tell she is from Long Island. I’m from New York and I know what he was referring to and it was, as Jill said, “deragatory.”

4. Kelly Killoren Bensimmon – so far, a complete nonentity. Everyone on the message boards I read seem to think she’s a bad equestrian, so why they focus on this as opposed to the 1,000 types of men she meticulously listed for us on episode 1 is weird. More men, less horses! So far, Kelly’s best moment: saying that she has a hard time “working” at the parties she is assigned to cover for her column in the Hamptons newspaper because everyone is “taking her picture”.

6. Jill & Bethenny: I’m putting them together because thus far, we’ve only seen them as one unit. Their friendship is most genuine and natural. Bethenney’s scene with Jill’s mom, was so sad and genuine. Best moments: all the adorable dancing scenes with Brad! Jill’s re-telling of Ramona’s David Paterson story was good enough to make me wan to watch a show only about Jill.

I love this show! thanks for the recap.
How are Simon and Alex eggheads? They just pretend to be eggheads, there are lots of eggheads out here who are really smart. Not those two! They would say something smart once and a while if so. They sound so unintelligent, and Alex has done a really poor job with her blog. And also made poor use of that Ayn Rand quotation.
I think the word you were looking for was “dorks.” They are dorks, still trying to be cool as old people. Wish them well, of course.
Thank goodness for Kelly. As the author of children’s books, a mother who raised two children in NYC(one went to Harvard, the other to Julliard) and a Fellow of the World Literary Academy, UK…while being married to a European
shipping owner, I can relate to these women…however, my former husband never would have wanted the exposure Countess LuAnn had imposed on the Count.
I also feel the Countess is back stabbing and hypocritical…always tearing down whomever is not lunching with her at the time.
Thank goodness you brought in Kelly. She is a classy lady, a mother(by the way, how does Bethany fit into the ‘housewives’ mold…neither
married nor a mother nor formerly married?). She
is also very toxic and jealous of newcomer Kelly with good reason: Kelly is prettier, a mother,
a lady, honest…all the things Bethany is not.
I normally wouldn’t comment this brutally, but
Bethany is disgusting.
Jill has let the exposure go to her head. She needs to get over herself. She is not all that.
Simon and Alex are a devoted couple, who
live very differently from the rest of the ladies.
Why can’t they be left alone.
Ramona has a good heart, is a little blunt, but I am so glad Mario finally told Jill off.
Keep Kelly-she will save the integrity of the show. The others will soon bleed to death from
all the stabbing wounds in their backs as well as the ones they inflict. Sincerely, Karen Papagapitos
I am sorry Kelly is HORRIBLE and nothing but a gold diggger. She loves to drop names and tries to impress people but I am not impressed. Please get rid of her. Everything she recapped about the story to Bethany was false any time she repeated it it was different. She just wants to get in the lime light because like a lime she is green with envy. Love the rest of the cast Yes even Simon But who is Kelly there are so many more housewives of New York City you can pick. And what is up with her skin she needs to stop Tanning she looks over 50 and needs to get some help there or maybe it is her makeup. Any how just lose her and please I hope you have more shows with Bethany cooking she is a wonderful cook and gives great ideas.
This is for Karen. Are you for real. Just because Kelly has two children and are raising them alone does not mean that she is good. Anyone that acts as she has acted toward the charity event and Bethenny does not deserve air time. She is shallow and so full of herself that she needs to go. Bethenny is twice the person Kelly is.
I’m sorry Karen P. but….. from what land are you ??? Kelly is unbelievably shallow and vapid(and there is no way she graduated with any degree from Columbia by the way). She is so self absorbed and lives for her own publicity. I don’t understand why she was added to the show. I do not care fo Lu Anne because of her obsession of being a “Countess”, but she is not back-stabbing. Bethany has a biting, clever wit that makes me love her. And- she’s real. I also like Jill – she is what she is and she’s sensitive. Ramona is a tacky, frenetic, but good hearted woman with, I think, poorly fitted contact lenses. And- now I really dislike her husband, Mario, after his juvenile hissyfit with Jill at the Page six party. LOSER. Alex and Simon are social climbers from hell. Period. Bottom line – this is an extremely entertaining show all in all. It is the show we hate to love .. but do.
Can’t believe someone actually can tolerate Kelly. She is rude and obnoxious and too full of herself. The only person running close to 2nd in the category is Ramona who dresses and behaves like an over aged teenager in dress and manners. Both are loud and ill mannered. During Kelly and Bethenney’s coversation at Jill’s condo Kelly would not let Bethenney get a word in edgewise by constantly “over talking” in a loud manner to drown out Bethenney. Can’t stand Mario either as he’s become a pain in the butt.
The so called “Countess” by title is soon to be yet Ex Countess wife #4 how many ex-countesses does France allow? Guess she will become plain old “LuAnn”. Jill is self centered and spoiled, a $16,000 purse??? Give the money to a homeless shelter instead! Simon & Alex, total wannabee social climbers who can’t live the life style of those in NYC. They must be in debt up to their necks now that Alex has lost her job with Victoria Secrets.
The only person I like is Bethenney as she is down to earth and has a dry sense of humor!
I wish her luck as she struggles to build her company in today’s tough economy. She isn’t living off her husband’s money or title.
I hope she finds a nice guy however.
Please Bravo, ditch Kelly and quick!
