Part of what made Rebecca Black an Internet sensation was that despite the $2,000 price tag attached to her vanity music video for “Friday,” she never seemed to intend for it to be seen by millions of people. So if she glams it up when she isn’t trying to promote it, it’s strange that the cover for the single so many people are awaiting, she’d look so toned down. This could be a yearbook photo. Where are the sequins, the strappy dress, the backseat?!

Ugh. Now I feel like I can’t enjoy ‘Friday’ anymore. The ONLY reason that I got pleasure out of it was because it was produced with such a pitifully earnest desire to do well, and ended up being such a travesty.
Now I feel like reveling in her flailing first efforts legitimizes all of them since she’s taking another stab at ‘music’ and trying to paddle upstream against the notoriety of her name.
No. Rebecca Black. Stop trying to be a singer. Just be Rebecca Black. Everyone loves you that way.
